New Player Guide to Tools Needed?

Is there a list of tools that a new player should install to take advantage of the great edits and mods created by the users here? I did a search for tools, but didn't find a list. I know there will be updated versions to these tools with the upcoming release of FIFA 12, I just wanted to know what tools I need.
