New to FM

[Luis Ah-Hoy]

Hi guys

I'm a CM addict (i'm still playing the CM 03-04 ), but lately i've noticed much fuzz over this game... my friends say that FM is much better than CM, but i'm still asking them why and their explanations are not very convincing...

Can someone enlight me in this? And when is the latest version of this game coming out?

the next version - FM 2007 - is coming out in november for PC, PSP, 360,..

Football Manager is Championship Manager with a different name..Sports Interactive(the game developpers) got separated from Eidos(the distributers) and SI kept the game's database, while Eidos kept the name Championship Manager.

now Eidos is still launching the Championship Manager series, but it's a diferent game, that is sold - imo - solely by it's name...

while Sports Interactive launched the Football Manager series (worldwide soccer manager in the USA), which is basically, as i said, the updated versions of the older CMs(when SI and Eidos were together)

Actually, i also wanted to know what this game have in special... does it brings anything new (besides the updated teams and player profiles, and stuff like that)?!

You can download the demo and try it out. I think you will find answers to most of your questions by doing so.

well, the great improvements are media talk, team talk at the break and end of each match(you can tell the players you are angry, encourage them, say you are very happy, etc)...media is also improved, with so much i'm not going to write it all other things that are improved are the training schedules(they got ridd of the daily-type of schedule) they now got wages for you, like when you sign a contract you can choose what wage you want, want budget for transfers you want and what budget for player transfers you want(the two latter are related, as the more one goes up, the other goes down, and obviously all that is inside a number of choices the club gives you...)

so there are lots and lots of stuff for one to explore, and it's definitely (maybe behind CM 03-04 and CM 01-02) the best of the series...

Yeah... i have to admit it... i'm just being too lazy to do a research now...
I think i might just slow down the studying for a while and try the game...

As nor-rbk said, I think you should first play the demo and see wheter you like it.
Also, if you like CM I give you a big chance you like FM aswell, as it has everything that CM had and more. But it is far more difficult than CM 03/04(no cheat-players/legends like: Maxim Tsigalko, Anatoli Todorov, Papa Waigo, Georgi Kakalov etc.)

if both answers are yes, and if CM already feels like an extension of your arm, then FM will be like getting... a longer arm
