owen didnt play with dead leg, bramble injured (cant say im worried... but yet, moore didnt make bench?) dyer.... omg, i almost cried, hes been one of my firm favourites for a while, i was happy to see him finally coming back... and this? I think this has been the biggest footballing injustice in history, cos i dont think any of the 3 clean sheets have been worthy.... shay given is the best keeper the premier league has ever seen, i dont care what schmichael did, given has been so very very good and consistently good for so damn long... ne1 who dont believe me look at his game today, and look at ne game newy has played this year, and he makes at least one great stop a game (last wee, sibierski header... but that says alot about newcastle's defence, or lack of)

and yes, where the hell is moore? experience would help alot... ALOT, and hes got tonnes of it, he captains australia for crying out loud, and yet he hasnt played a game for us?

You've gotta be relieved with a point after that. Pompey fans will be the ones going home feeling unlucky becuase they carved out numerous chances throughout the game and apart from the opening ten minutes were on top for most of the game. Given has saved us again, i just hope he doesn't get pissed off and want out if a bigger club comes in for him becuase the players in front of him do very little to make his job easier. A lot of the blame from the Toon fans goes towards the two center backs but it's the full backs who are constantly letting us down. Both Carr and Babayaro did little to stop the Pompey widemen getting behind the defence. The full back situation will need to be adressed in January if the funds are available. Fortunately for us Pompey are lacking a goal scorer, if Yakubu was with them still he would have picked up at least a brace this afternoon.

Very fustrating to say the least!

yeh, i noticed that, babayaro mainly i thought seemed to b caught out alot.... i really dont rate him... carr... 50/50, didnt notice them coming down the left as much... taylor was a lil quiet... but i think the biggest issue is our set piece marking? or marking in general? i mean sibierski last week? taylor b4 the corner, and then off the resulting corner last nite? dario silva? all these players just are unmarked the whole time?

ppl say its the mark of a good team when u get points/wins when u play badly... but i think that doesn't apply to us... not at the moment ne who

Emre was quality today,
but owen was really poor and ameobi was well..terrible, i wouldnt even have him in my squad nxt game, any 1 who saw the game do u agree??

Fernandez

Team Captain
Ameobi was terrible. I watched the game. Emre made a difference to the match but he couldn't conjure up an equaliser.

It's the one we've all been waiting for, local bragging rights at stake.

The 125th Tyne-Wear league derby

The squad: Ameobi, Boumsong, Brittain, Caig, Carr, Chopra, Clark, Elliott, Emre, Faye, Given, N'Zogbia, Owen, Parker, Ramage, Shearer, Solano, Taylor.

Owen is doubtful and Solano will most likely only make the bench.

If we loose this, Souness will get the sack, i'm quite sure of it.

Clinical finishing was the difference between the two teams and are you watching Sven? Parker ran the show in mid-field again.

Hows Nobby doing so far?

and has Souness Secured his starting midfield?

Considering Nobby had so many weeks out he's returned really well.

I would think so: Zog, Emre, Parker and Solano.

What I wouldn't give to have Scott Parker at Manchester United....

I'm glad to see Newcastle moving up the table, they've put a lot of work into rehauling the team and it is starting to pay off. Emre and Parker have been great, and Michael Owen is... well he's Michael Owen.

On a really good note, Emre was in my Fantasy team. :)
