NFL Thread 2014

We've got some needs, pretty much everything other than QB, RB, TE, and ILB.

I think we'll take the best OL on the board in the first round. If we can get a WR that stretches the field in the 2nd we'll probably go with him.

Don't the Cowboys have the best O-line in the NFL right now?

Btw, this is what I meant earlier about analysis videos:

Anyone know something similar? I like pieces that analyse how plays, players, schemes or formations work in football but a lot of them are written pieces that use very specific terminology that I can't always follow.

Re: Alex

Well I say that, but I also don't think he'll make the 53 man squad.
Yeah that will be harder - especially since they signed Reggie Bush not long after signing him. Just need to hope they want him for a special team or something I guess.

Do they keep some guys outside the 53 on their books (with feeder or development sides) in case of injuries?

To be fair the Niners wouldn't be pinning all their hopes on a rugby turned football player project, so them not signing another running back would be more puzzling.

Kind of surprised Williams slipped to 6th and got taken by the Jets who have Wilkinson and Richardson on their D-line already.

I was hoping to see a huge trade, so it's been disappointingly low key so far. 2 RBs in the top 15 and more WR than last year is interesting, I guess.

I thought Leonard Williams should have gone #1. Not surprised that any team took him; no matter how stacked your D-Line is, you can use a player like that.

Gregory lasted until the 60th. Kind of hoped he'd go another fee pucks and go to Seattle, who still haven't picked an O-lineman. Surprised the allegedly top guard only went in the 3rd too. Bunch of guys that were touted as 1st rounders dropped all the way to 3rd, like Jaelen Strong.

I like the Jaguars' draft. Obviously I haven't seen much of the players in action, but from what I've heard, they got a bunch of great picks. Fowler, Yeldon and Cann all represent good value. Bennett at the 6th and Winston's favorite target Greene late represents a good haul.

I'm also intrigued by the Titans getting DGB and Mariota.

Oh, and it seems like this season Brady will have a harder time staying upright. Jets got Williams to compliment Richardson and Wilkerson or Wilkinson or whatever it is. Dolphins got Suh and Bills have Dareus, and the two Williams.

I'm also happy about the Packers' Draft. We got some good players that should help out in the secondary, and a talented versatile linebacker from Michigan. For MLB, I really like productive, smart, 4 year starter kind of players rather than athletic freaks, and we seem to have got one in the 4th Round. Borland was a great example of this type of guy. I also really like Ty Montgomery, he was a key member of my college fantasy championship team in 2013; he's a really dynamic player with the ball in his hands.

Other than Malcolm Brown and Trey Flowers I have no clue what to think about the Pats draft. I guess we'll see if Belichick wasted yet another 2nd round pick on a massive reach soon enough...

Deflategate update:

The Patriots were probable than not to hav intentionally deflated the balls. The NFL will suspend Tom Brady for a few games. There will be other penalties/fines to the New England organization of cheaters. Now, the whole world officially knows that Tom Brady's team has ALWAYS been cheaters. Let history tell the story of a proven cheater.

According to me, Ted Wells dropped the ball on this one. His report took too long. Brady should have been suspended for the Superbowl.
