First of all, great update. Far better than your previous version.

Now, if I may critique. Let it be known that this is purely for the advancement of the gameplay and not in anyway meant to be mean or anger towards you, as they are just my opinions.

Ok, so. The first thing I noticed was the ball physics, or lack there of. It seems to 'float' sometimes. It almost feels like I'm playing in space. The ball never seems to stop bouncing.

Secondly, while the gameplay has become more attribute based, its not quite all that noticeable. During the few games I played, I've noticed that the speed differential is there, but there are still instances when 3rd rate defenders catch my first class strikers. Also, my keeper seems to be underskilled. I played macclesfield, and they scored twice on my keeper from unfavorable shots, while I had breakaways that were turned down, and rebounds that were punched away. They beat me 2-0 on world class. Weird thing is, I played chelsea next. And I beat them 3-2 on world class again. I thought the MAcclesfield thing could have been a fluke, so i played them again and lost again. This time 3-0. Same things as last time.

I also noticed that I was unable to score from anywhere outside the box. Everything shot outside that area was too high, even when the power bar was ok. It might have something to do with the space physics, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, just my thoughts. Great direction though, and real promise.

PS. Is there anyway to get your old gameplay patch, the first one you released? I like to compare numbers so I can try to understand what does what in the fies, and of course being the dumbass I am, I installed the new patch without backing up the old one. Thanks.

Ok, this is my first impressions:

- excellent variety of game
- player's goalkeeper tweaked down too much, should be increased a bit
- GAME_SPEED to 20 for me is too slow, should be 30/35 to avoid "space physics" effects
- some MAX_HEIGHT values are too high, the LOBTROUGH_MAX_HEIGHT to 55 is really too much for me

Here are my comments:

1. This game fix is best played under "Normal" speed, otherwise on slow you will always get the space-like effect.

2. Very impressing gameplay especially the way the CPU builds an attack and defend his goal.

3. Very nice tweak for shooting on goal, players tend to shoot the ball with more power now! so realistic.

My suggestions are:

1. Tweak the headers, this is a must, me or the CPU are scoring headers in an "over loop" style instead of "power shoot" strong hit style, which annoys when having a one on one with the goalkeeper and doing a header on him! it always flies like if the player is not experienced. Physically when the ball is flying in a strong &/or low over loop, when a player puts his head in front of it the ball must have a strong curve and just go to another direction, I'm talking about a real strong curve, in your fix the ball seems to be too unrealistic in the headers!

2. some slides are very long, which makes the player slid so far. (I had this problem twice or three times during a game).

So far, this game fix is the best I have ever tried, in general it beats the original Fifa 06 gameplay with flying colors! The ball bouncing, the ball hit by the players, the tackles, the moves are all impressingly improved.

Ok, I have already started impoving on what you guys have mentioned, it's very basic improvements though, I haven't started any of my magic yet haha. I guarantee the ball physics in the next update will be much, much improved.

I believe the slow ball is not a case of ball gravity, but air resistance and game-speed. It is difficult to create a 'balance' as I have tried heavier ball gravity before and due to the new physics it's almost like you're kicking a rock! It looks ridiculous. Anyone who has played PES5 will notice that the ball is lighter than default FIFA 06 ball gravity straight from the box. I would say PES5 is a much closer representation of the beautiful game. I don't base my update on Konami's game at all, but I did notice that the ball in PES5 almost has a 'float' to it in certain areas of the game and this can be true in real life. Although granted, I do need to find a better balance as it is slightly 'floaty' than normal/realism.

I have already started work on a more skilled CPU and it seems to be working! I am also going to balance goalkeepers for user/cpu. Shooting will be harder, but beating the keeper will be more skilled than simply 'challenging'.

Excuse me NK, but I took a glance at your cpudiff settings and I saw that you used these parameters for goalkeepers skill!

Legend level:
human: 8 / cpu: 110

World class level:
human: 12 / cpu 105

and so on.. I don't think this is a good idea: this is not difficulty tweaking but transforming the human goalkeeper in a disaster and the cpu one in a superhuman! The rest of the settings are very good (even if I noticed you lowered interception skill too in the same way, but maybe this is good), but in this way the game is just frustrating: I'm testing and I have something like 20 shots at goal with 0 goals while the CPU shots 1 time and scores always.

I'll be more detailed of course, but I wanna "study" more the settings.

Good idea - Bad idea. The point to the update was to make it difficult. Although taking into account I should've spent more time on it, I have now made changes and these changes are evident and areas of the game that people have commented on. Goalkeepers are far more balanced, user/CPU shooting much more realistic. Ball physics are better, not so much bounce on the ball, etc.

I believe my update is the best out there! The next one will be the definitive release...because I'm putting everything you guys want into it and more. Don't expect no 'rock ball' physics though, although the ball does float slightly, by no means do I believe the ball gravity should be increased. After doing so, the ball became very unrealistic and changes to air resistance would have to be made. But this would take away the 'feel' I have created to the game. I have my ways around it.

Hello NK, I'm very optimistic about this last update and it seems to me that a few changes will make the definitive gameplay out of it. I am no specialist in editing, and I've tried to correct very few values (gamespeed to 40, spin of the ball, width of the field, CPU closedown speed to 995, CPU and human goalie skill to 70) without changing ball gravity and air resistance. It looks good.

I have started work on my latest update already! the ball physics in the passing and ball bounce is much better. It feels more like turf now then a varnished surface where every pass stays at a nice steady speed. Now the ball bounce is less predictable and passes aren't as perfect.

The ball physics are going to be one of the main areas that i'll work on...full attention this time round :)

As for CPU difficulty, that will increase again too. But as most request, I will make it more balanced.

Great, but maybe I'm just **** but I can never score headers anymore... Even if it's an obvious goal and I just tap the button, the ball goes flying over the bar :(

Maybe fix the heading values a bit?

Yes, indeed hitting the target with headers in my current update is difficult. It's possible! But difficult, and I don't think there's much variation. My latest update that I'm working on corrects this issue as I have seen headers go way over the bar and headers go thundering into the net! ;)

I must say, I'm already ahead with this latest update. I know exactly what you guys want and so far everything you have requested has been put in and it's playing so much better!! Check out these results, the CPU (Real Madrid) fouled me twice with shoulder barge tackles! These are usually very rare, and they had a hand-ball, which was nice but I've done nothing to increase hand-balls...it was just funny cause the cinematic made them look really gutted hahaha. I have balanced the goalkeepers much better, a match a had before I won because of Henry's volley, the cross came into Henry, he knee'd the ball, chested it and volleyed it into the top corner. Seriously, I jumped up and shouted god knows what but it was satisfying! These type of goals are now possible, because beating the goalkeeper is much more 'skillful' than simply 'superman between the posts'. Keeping in mind that hitting the target is much harder now.

Well, check out the results from my Arsenal V Real Madrid game. I lost 2-0, but I loved it!!
