Here are some results from a match I've just had using an update of the demo. It was an 8 minute game.

I lost this gane 1-0. But I had some good chances. Played on Amateur.

Hey Nick,
I have played 2 matches so far and I must say you're a freaking genius
Just one thing you can maybe correct it's when the gk takes a drop kick , it goes way too high
I like the way the CPU plays more agressive
OK, I will leave more comments here in the next days but for me Fifa 2004 is buried now

Nick,

One more thing I have noticed.
It seems that most of the shots are ground shots and have not lot of power.
I would like that sometimes, it would be possible to make long shots from 30 35 yards that go in the top corner .
You know , shots à la Nedved or Seedorf etc...
Maybe it has to do with the ball gravity.
What do you think ?

Are you using keyboard or a gamepad?

To get a powerful shot you need to time it just before full power.

I didn't seem to have any problems with the power, I'll look into this, thanks for the info!

My biggest success so far !
Goal from J.Hasselbaink at the 18th minute, ( who was later sent off ) then I managed to keep the score but it was a hard hard work !!!
I play in professionnal, 6 minutes halves , with Microsoft Sidewinder and with the Autoseek disabled so as you can see I was really struggling
( see the ball posession )
Indeed I succeeded in making ONE power shot
What a game !!!

Yes, power shots are possible...I too use an MS Sidewinder, say what internet connection are you on? When the final release is out in around a week to 2 weeks max, I should play you on-line (direct IP).

I've lost the derby of the Mersey

This time I could manage better ball posession, but my CB Henchoz was sent off in the 23th minute ( I've set the referee level to strict )
with the result of having a penalty against me ( goal from Watson )so I had to fight with 10 against 11
I did manage to have good chances as well with Owen and Baros because they are fast players but one of my shot hit the post !!!
Then in the 85th minute, Stubbs one CB of Everton received his 2nd yellow card and was sent off but I could not score the equalizer
Once again, it was a great match

Fantasic!

Well, the update is getting better now man. The defence is better, it's harder to get a shot on goal.

I'd say the final release is going to be a noticeable difference from the demo.

GR8 patch NK i never had more control on my players b4 the passing and lobbing have become much better and realistic,and i really am earning my goals.i hope there will be more stuff in the final version..one more thing did u configure the 1-2 pass as the right analog stick cos even though it shows "select" button for the 1-2 pass in the config menu its the right stick tht works in the game.THis never happened b4.gr8 work if u did that.This is one of my better efforts in proff mode.

Very nice!

With the final release you can expect the overall gameplay to be finer tuned. This will basically come in the tackling, the defending, possibly the ball physics, the fatigue system might under-go some changes, things like this.

I was thinking of making the lighting more dramatic.

Expect the update to be released around the 23rd on Friday this month.

NK after playing for a week with ur patch i have some suggestions,one is that the cpu always attacks with crosses into the box, a cross comes from the midfield into the box and one of their player runs into the box while i dont have a single defender near him ,this attack occurs atleast 70 % of the time and they score mostly thru this move,it gets a bit predictable aftr some time plz do something to reduce this,

also the player dribbles have become almost useless no matter how perfectly i time the dribble the cpu always gets the ball
also please increase the chances of serious injury,even if get injured in a match my player is match fit for the nxt game so i always play with my best 11.

Also the ref is very lenient even on max strictness

i hope u can do these in time for the final patch.

I have made a lot of changes to the overall difficulty of attacking. You should find it easier to break down the CPU on a common attack. The fouling will be sorted out to hopefully increase yellow cards, I have already made some adjustments and had more bookings.

I'll increase chance of injury, whether this affects the lengths of the injury is upto the programmers of EA SPORTS, I have no power over this.

The final release will have a much more 'complete' feel to the experience.

It's impossible to make them sub, it isn't programmed into the game at all.

EA didn't make it so they could, so I can't alter or turn it on and off.

well i have things to say i love the patch i tied barcelona with valencia 2-2 and decided to got to penalties.i didnt see the power bar and i pressed the shoot button as i always do but it was so sensitave>?>?and went out. so i actuaally had to tap the button slight to not get a wild kick. also i noticed the cpu shot the ball in the same place two times in a row .the cpu did this twice.
(this was in penalties)

also as the other guy said when the goalie kicks the ball from his hand it goes to high. i would also notcie my playe when he had the ball he would move but wouldnt shoot or pass. i kept pressing the buttons but it wouldnt.this happend to me 3 times.

Hehe, yes I made the penalties harder to power-up, but it was too sensitive, so I have slowed it down.

I've given Amateur difficulty the same settings as what World class has in the Demo, and I have now made professional and world class settings, harder than Amateur. I tell you it is more challenging!!

I've just had a match on Amateur and lost 1-0. Great game, I couldn't really get a good chance on goal, and the 2 shots I had were easily saved. Great stuff.

The matches are tighter now, it took a LOT of tweaking, but I've made it a much tighter game, you can do some great passes and team-work, but getting through the defence is harder. The CPU are 'slightly' more accurate in front of goal, this makes it more vital to defend well.

I think you guys are going to love this!
