So the modifications Ocham made are already included in beta 2?

I think that this is playing the most realistically right now. The User will almost always have more shots because we shoot without discretion, from odd angles often (at least I do) and the CPU doesn't do this.

The defence is tight but not fake. I wonder what Luis Ah-Hoy wants when he says make it tighter...hey Luis, are you scoring 5,6,7 goals a game?

I thought the defence was unrealistic at one point due to the closedown speed and perfect close-outs...its a lot better now and you fixed the keepers punts etc. Best work to date. Speed is great as well. There seems to be times of slow and fast...like real football.

Basically, I am aware of the things Ockham mentioned and others and made changes, but these changes aren't present in beta 2.0. However, I am asking for feedback on the current beta as it isn't the final product. Making changes to give me feedback is fine as long as variations of my designs for V6 are not released, although I would prefer feedback on what I have created because the beta contains what it does for a reason of testing, not editing :)

I'm not sure whether to release a 3rd beta as so far I am satisfied with what you guys are wanting and the feedback I have received. Progress is being made daily.

One thing to look out in V6 is that although not in every match, you'll see the CPU shoot from some crazy angles! I wanted to make this possible so I had a think and figured out a way to make them take more unexpected shots at goal despite when they have the oportunity to pass. And as you said Dave the game can speed up and slow down like real football. The play is variant :)

the installation process of V6 is going to be a charm! Each update improves on the user friendly installation for gamers that are not familar with editing and installing community utilities.

All credit to FIFAfs for their wonderful program.

A new demo movie of Barcelona (me) VS a CPU real Madrid is been put together as I type this, it'll be around 86mb and uploaded to an appropiate server once completed.

Details;

- 8 minute match showing both the 1st and 2nd half
- World Class AI
- Much newer beta than the one released showing new CPU shots and build-up.
- I did actually try and score, but the defence is much quicker and smarter.
- I usually score at least 1 goal a game, but this is a shorter game due to video size and quality and I do get hammered by the CPU attacks.
- Still progress to be made on this BETA video, so may not reflect final product, although most likely will in many areas of play.
- The new logo has been watercoloured out at the start. New logo will be revealed soon, it's very swish! Or so I like to think so since I made it :jap:

The video will be linked in this thread soon, you'll be surprised how much the CPU attacks. V6 will be released next month, release date; TBC.

You should test the gp not only with top teams and nationals, the game experience is absolutely different with medium rated teams.

Would you also like a video of two lower rated teams? Or me as a good team against a lower rated team, or visa-versa?? Let me know, I'll make a new one to show.

...and if I like what I see?

Dave

Then I'll be very happy! If I was to release a beta 3, it wouldn't play quite like it is for me. You wouldn't receive the intensty file I'm working on because that is something I'm keeping to myself for now. However, I can take parts of the current beta and put it into beta 2 so you can test out those area's and allow you to concentrate on that part of the game. Say a 'defence beta', where your job is to see how easy it is to break the defence! :)

Latest news;

Playing with a 2 or 3 star rated team against say Real Madrid is much harder now. e.g. your goalkeeper won't save shots as easy. Your players' will stumble on the ball and be slower. Overall player attributes are lower and this will stand out more.

Although this is obvious to the original EA gameplay, it will be even more so now thanks to V6.

Man, you got dominated! This is why its hard to evaluate your gameplay mods without actually playing the same settings as you since you may be better, worse, or whatever at FIFA and thats a varibale that can't be accounted for.

The CPU took a lot of shots from outside the box.

The game looked real fast though, alot more ping-pongy than games I play.

You can just send me the files in a zip or whatnot and I'll install them myself.

The beta 2.0 is still playing real well.

Still excellent results with the modifications I suggested (I sent you another suggestion on default.ini). Something that needs to be modified in the ai.ini is the percentual of injuries that is very high: in my career I'm getting 1 or 2 injuries each match!

Too many bars on headers. I mean, it's good that it's not so easy to score by header, but actually is again almost impossible.

Well, with the last modifications I PMed to you, Nk, I think there is a good balancing of the gp; of course the number of shots is always better for the human player, playing with minor and medium teams, but I think this can't be eliminated and maybe stronger modifications to parameters will false the proper equilibrium of the game. Look at the excellent and realistic results I've got with these new settings in my career in 2.Bundesliga:

Ockham - can you PM those modifications?

ExerSlow - i actually won 4-0 (Juve against Real), and their defence was not at the expected standards.... altho i recognize many improvements in this Beta v2, i think it's not good enough... it's getting better, but not quite there yet! I had to play some 12 games, to get used to this patch.... but once i did, no CPU team never managed to defeat me, from Real Madrid to Spurs... but i really like the way Spurs play with this GPU :P

NK - Sorry for not giving more feedbacks.... this has been a hard week, school jobs, tests, etc... but when i get some free time, i will resume my testings! :)

Ockham; Headers have already been fixed :) They are now less 'lob' like and you can have some good attempts. Scoring is much harder though.

The ball physics are undergoing some changes.

The overall way the game feels is the same, but the difficulty is increasing.

I too am finding the gameplay a tad easier now that I've adjusted to it. I installed it on a second FIFA on another drive and I am finding it easier on one drive then the other...perhaps the one drive still has modifications done by me? I'll have to check.

So Luis I can see what you're saying. I beat Chelsea a comfortable 2-0 and they never really threatened (kinda like they're playing right now:)

I like that headers clang off the crossbar. I don't have any trouble scoring the ones I'm supposed to and Ockham you're problem may be the skill of the players doing the heading because with Rooney, Saha, Park, Van Nistelrooy, I don't have too much trouble heading home open chances.
