just played a series of games with this version, like what is stated in the gamesupdate screen, 'This is definitely not for those under-skilled.' i must agree

but i must ask what have u done to the ball, basically im missing 100% of my headers its just almost impossible to get it in, especially when im trying to cross, and some how the ball is unrealistically bouncing too much on the turf...(i know this is one of the aim of the change in the ball physique)

plus the AI has seemingly become weaker and not in the mood to attack most of the time tho i understand that there's more variation in gameplay now.

what have u tweaked on the ball ? i've drawn like 6 games in a row now, neither me nor the AI is able to score ? maybe i suck too much ?

lol, it's difficult and challenging. You think the ball bounces too much? Hmmm I used physics for quite 'hard' turf, whereas playin in a rain game you'll see how the ball doesn't bounce hardly much at all. However, I can decrease ball bounce more for the next version or an 'add-on' if that will do the trick. I am always open to ideas.

This is a difficult update, scoring is harder for both you and the AI, they don't attack like crazy all the time and they can hold you off too, it makes those 'chances' more exciting because they don't come all the time, so when it comes up and if you convert it, then you'll be rewarding with true emotion. Headers are MUCH harder to score and direct, but possible. I've scored with a couple, but with V7 and yeah V6 scoring by lobbing the keeper with a header happened ALL the time, so now keeping them down is difficult, much more difficult. Some will stay down, but go wide. It's more like PES.

Mutiger my brother from another mother! hahaha, excuse me. Well, the update comes with the option to install the original EA gameplay, it will even put on the original intensty values for ya buddy so no worries if you want to uninstall it. Makes sure to uninstal V8, then install EA gameplay. Nice n' simple mate.

The game is not harder this time, it's just almost impossible to score, you still dominate at higher difficulty level but with less goals. Switching to longer half duration allows to easily win again.

Thank you NK for this version! It's great how the game is played now! I'm just gonna reduce the goalkeepers ability since the overall difficulty shouldnt relly on harder goalkeppers but on harder players. Gk should be the same for you and for the CPU.

why reduce the goalkeepers ability ? haha isnt that some sort of cheating ? im not pretty sure tho, never played around with the players ability

anyway NK
when u say the ball is harder to keep down, that means that there is a way to keep it down but what factor is affecting it actually ?

-the way of the cross ? (deep or by-line)
-strength of cross ?
-timing of jump ?
-strength of shooting button ?
-positioning ? (the player himself or from the goal ?)
-cursor keys ?

i've been playing around a lot with all this factors but somehow the ball just aint coming down :(

the only head im able to keep down so far is a diving header thats all, CPU is able to head quite far from the goal and scores (must be smthg wrong) the ball is lobbing after the header and slowly drops into the net and my keeper cant catch it ? haha, i thought the keepers are better now

original EA gameplay followed same pattern in goalkeepers. That's the way the game is designed, so no...not cheating...just gameplay.

NK is this compatible with Ockham's CEP? I watched the trailer and thought 'wow this looks miles better than last time I played (I think that was V3), so I installed it. I also have CEP installed and it crashed after the intro stuff.

here the match facts with me basel vs schaff, just look at the shots and the end results, i didnt at all try to make them look good just keep shooting simple on goal shots but commited and nice long shots to short tap ins

the point being how hard issit to beat the gk even tho im still a noob on professional mode, whereas some of u here says its easy and this v8 could have been harder.. lol

Great patch NK! I actually had to go down from Legendary to Professional (though that might just be because I'm out of practice). The thing I liked best was that I played as Man Utd against Man City and lost 2-3, but then I played as Chelsea against Bristol Rovers and won 2-0. DIfference in club skill levels :)

Oh yeah, one thing I meant to say was that I think you should increase ball pass speed along the ground. As it is now, too many passes get intercepted/don't reach their intended player.

Funny how just before I read this, I added more speed onto passes haha. Yeah I've made the game tighter now, still needs testing. But the overall feel to it is better. Slowed down the ball speed a little, harder to keep shots down and direct at goal. CPU attacks faster with more variation. I think I'll keep going back and forth, checking out others areas of the game, then balancing/tuning it. But if you like V8 mate, then V9 will only be better.
