I finally installed the patch correctly this time. What a difference in everything, ball movement, player speed, shots, and corners are much improved.

Originally, I assumed I installed the patch, but had installed the Fifa not WC patch, so I didnt have a patch installed. Sadly, if the zero Gs balls, impossible corners, and craptastic play was the orginal EA gameplay... thats just sad. Play test much?

edit: well, the game is a ****load faster than before and the CPU AI is just as ridiculous as before too.. they pass it around like Argentina on crack.

also, what is with the tackling in this game? no matter what moves i try, if i go anywhere near a CPU defender they strip the ball off my like nothing, but when CPU has the ball, i chase him around for hours before i can make a tackle?

pros: free kicks and penalties are fixed!

anyway i cant deal with the gamespeed so im gonna revert to biggys patch i think. in any case, well done NK!

Hey, headers work, and its very... wait... VERY nice to have the CPU just kick the ball on goal and try to score. I hated the pass, pass, pass, pass, pass...you get the idea.

i think the cpu is still the same, and i dont think their passing are godly either, just learn how to position your players and press A to intercept

anticipate when a CPU player on the ball will want to pass and press D imediately afterwards, this will allow your player to chase after the free ball, if ur player is fast enough he'll just get the ball faster than the cpu player bring the possession back to u

tackling is a fine art in EA, u just need to use the A and D button well, and dont be running all the time if u get what i mean, just walk slowly and time your challenge, u'll get it

there will be a new update for the world cup game and it'll focus on ball physics and slowing the game down, like I have done for FIFA 06.

wow. i am surely an idiot

i must have installed this patch wrong because i just installed it for fifa06 and was amazed at the gameplay. i reinstalled it for wc06 and its all good! i am totally enjoying this now. please disregard my previous posts

the ball is still a little bouncy/fast but the AI is so vastly improved that the game plays just totally sweet

Hey man, no worries. I'm sure there are area's of the game that still needs work on and I am glad you're enjoying it. Maybe I can send a beta of the next update your way to try out? That is when I start on it, which won't be long mate.

I think 'balancing' is the key with the World Cup game, the engine is quite different to FIFA 06, especially when editing the ball physics (Although in V8, the ball physics for 2006 FIFA World Cup ™ were <b>not</b> edited)

gameplay is great...
i also noticed that the 'force field' whenever a goalkeeper is near a ball has been removed. in other words, we can go near the ball even tho the gk has parried the ball to sumwhere which is close to him (gk) unlike previously, when the gk is near the ball, it's like s tho we can't get anywhere near the ball
hence, rebounds r much more meaningful this way!

Nice gameplay but still something to work on !!

Thanx for the NK v8 gameplay !!
This was the first NK i tried.
I like the fact that its harder so now i can play on worldclass as well instead playing friendly matches all the time.
I also like the way the outfield players position themselves and i like the new ball winning system.

Things i would like to see improved are :
1) slower pace of passing.
2) Goalies are to good sometimes even with low points
3) Still hard to score the most easiest changes with great players
4) The way the pc plays is still quite predictable and players like christiano ronaldo are not trying to take on players more than other players.

It looks that i dont like it but i really do. Thanx a lot and good luck with next update!!!!

Hey NK,

now that i've installed the patch correctly i'm having the same problem as before with penalty kicks. on offense, i miss every penalty and there is no 'red zone' in the bar. also, the power meter is really quick. on defense, my goalkeeper is totally non-responsive to the controls.

any ideas? does anyone else have this problem?

edit: just tried it in fifa06, problem is absent
