I think behind this choice to have FIFA 14 for PC in current gen there are some things to think about:
-New consoles have at least 8 core, and they are done for games. They don't have an Operating system as ours , an antivirus and some other things that make your system less reactive. The PC with low medium specs are cutted down because or their processing specs, not graphical. New gen games do much more calculations than current gen , and the 80% or PCs now are not capable to do that, and this will be translating as less money for EA.

Nope this is not true!
The new PS4 and Xbox One will have an inbuilt Operating System and a security system that eats at least 3 out of the 8 GB of system RAM. This is to stop piracy on the new consoles. That leaves with only 5 GB of RAM free.

Secondly those 8 Core Processors are very weak. Each core will be equal to 1.66 GHz. A Core i7 with 4 cores at 4.0 GHz is still more powerful than the processor of the PS4 and Xbox One Consoles.
I think you are victim of EA's recent article saying "the next-gen consoles are a generation ahead of the highest end PC in the market".. Don't believe in this crap.

Even an AMD FX 8320/8350 8 Core Processor is more powerful than the one used in the PS4 and Xbox One Consoles. But even these are weaker than a Sandy Bridge Core i7 4/6 Core Processor.

In other words each core of the PS4/Xbox One CPU is a weak 1.66 GHz clock speed which is nothing compared to the 4.0 GHz of a Core i7/FX 8320/8350. Let's also not forget the overclocking capabilities of the PC.
RAM is also extremely cheap nowadays with the new DDR3.

This is just a marketing strategy from EA to try and sell the new Xbox One/PS4 Consoles. Otherwise who's going to buy a new Console if EA decided to develop the Ignite Engine for PC?

Basicly they ran the NG games on PC's using the dev kit via windows (where its built), which means all games created on a PC can play NG right now.

Also since I watched the gameplay videos of PES and the onces of 14 CG the speed of PES wins hands down at the moment, so I take back part of what i said with PES.

Watch that and tell me how it is called "Next Gen". Except for the crowd and the better faces(can be done on X360) I don't see anything "Next Gen". Btw amidst the stripped down version we got the past couple of years I have learnt to not expect anything good of EA cause they always seem to fuck up regardless of what they do.

At least now PES seems to be going in the right direction and I might fancy a go with it. Maybe the FIFA golden years have come to a stop.

Hahaha, at least it will happen for FIFA 14 caused the arrival of a giant killer. So far I see the Ignite has made better graphics. Face, kit, stadium environment. EA said that some differences in graphic Quality between FIFA 14 PC/XBOX/PS3 with FIFA 14 Xbox one/PS4 version and Unfortunately, PC gamers can not feel the Ignite.

Try to see the two pictures I posted above. FIFA 14 Gameplay possibility to be the same among all platforms, but the graphics quality rather different, as one of them is: the waving kit/kit model. Obviously they are trying to create an innovation. But when we reflect to KONAMI step on this year, EA still done little. Maybe EA feel still in the wind for everything ...The fact is fans will angry if there is no significant difference..Its look like competition between the COD and the Battlefield. A war happen is not only in the game...

When PS3 and Xbox 360 came out many developers weren't able to maximize possibility these two consoles could offer. It took some time to reach much better graphics, gameplay etc. It will be the same for PS4 and Xbox One. Graphics you see now are only beginning, dont take Ignite and other engines as top what you'll see in next-gen consoles. Everything now can still be put in current-gen basket.

Yup, I remember the beginning of the PS3 and Xbox 360, most games are still under development & has similarities with the PS2/XBOX game. However, development will inevitably result in better quality, But in other hand, While many developers moving their focus to the NextGen platform, KONAMI actually make games with great graphics as PES 2014 and MSG not for the NextGen, and it looks like fantastic result & they succeeded to do it, so I will actually could see how the developers balance their work to all platforms. So, because I was a PC gamer, the best game for the PC that I was going to choose..

Yeah although it is true that when the current gen came there were similarities. But to tell the truth at that time graphics weren't that advanced. Now graphics are 20x advanced than current gen. Remembering that look at how good PES 2014 looks and compare it with 2013. See how they are pushing for innovation rather than money making schemes like EA. EA has really done nothing rather than put up an enhanced version of FIFA 13 for both gen the latter being more graphically better.
