There aren't longer intro scenes, closeups of faces, anthem lineups, etc. It's because EA are embarrased at the graphics. Some faces are good, most are awful. Kuranyi face is the best I've seen and Guti the worse. Overall, most look stupid as all hell. Fifa 2008 better not be sloppyyyy!

Personally I don't agree, I believe this games graphics looks way better than FIFA 06 360 and there were closeups of those players, they just didn't have time to finish, like you said, "half assed"

but i will be disappointed if FIFA08 is like this again.....

Seriously dude I don't get you, you keep saying this game is "half assed" , I do agree it is unfinished but not half assed, most score it's averaging an 8 in reviews, that's damn good for a half assed game IMO. I have noticed you criticizing gameplay, now I will admit it's not pro evo, I wish FIFA had some things pro evo has and VICE VERSA, but the graphics are not that bad and I am a graphics slut, the faces do need to be better but the models look great to me, hair movement, skin looks like skin (albeit you have to be really, really, really close to see it), I keep demanding for more textures, about the stadiums, I am sorry but they look fantastic to me, you complain about Madrid's stadium, ok they didn't get everything, what game does, I remember you complaining about a spot light? Don't get me wrong I think you have some legitimate gripes, believe you me I have my own like the crowds moving the same way, the grass on the field although beautiful doesn't look like real grass, I want more textures on the player models, better looking faces, (they had better looking ones on the XBOX) and the list goes on but guess what I had similiar complaints with PES as well, personally I think you are being too hard, I think EA did a great job and I can't for 08'.

Sorry I would NOT play the game if EA did that, I cannot stand any FIFA(s) on current gens, the gameplay isn't real football to me. IMO PES will always beat FIFA on current gen

It's just my opinion. Actually, the Bernabeu in Fifa 2006 PS2 looked amazing. You felt the presence, it's imposing tallness, the N & S stands were right behind goals, Marca ads, I believe, Wanadoo ads, etc, were all there. + Our banner (Orgullo Vikingo) was present in the stands. o.k., MAYBE IT'S TH EFRAMERATE THAT MAKE THE CLOSEUPS LOOK BAD (when they walk off the field).

This game is not an 8 mate. I casn break it down....1. Lack of tournaments 2. Lack of leagues 3. No practice mode 4. Commentators wayyyy behind or in front of the action 5. Audio pauses for no reason 6. Ball sticks to the outside of the net even if it's rocketed at 80 mph. 7. Short intro scenes 8. Players bounce off each other like bumper pool 9. No cup celebrations when you win (So I've heard) 10. Match highlites usually show people getting fouled in midfield instead of scoring, etc. 11. Night games look as if they are illuminated by spotlights raised 20 ft. from the ground 12. 1st half of manager season takes place during the day 2nd half takes place all at night 13. Heading is attrocious 14. Guti looks like that guy from "In the Mouth of Madness" 15. Crowds are disgusting, seems like a bunch of zombies under mind control.....

As much as I enjoy it it is very frustrating as well. Things that are so basic.... I think the engine is great and the foundation is definately there....what I really fear is that they will screw up on FIFA 2008....

I didn't say it was an 8, I said most reviews this game is averaging an 8, Eurogamer, gamespot, Team XBOX to soccergaming and I said I have and listed my gripes as well with this game so you are preaching to the choir dude.

NOTE: AS far as the "spotlight" thing, lower you contrast and it fixes the glare. my tv is 50 for brightness and 70 for contrast, I have no prob in night games

My tv is perfectly calibrated. I'm just saying that the height seems wrong. Don't get me wrong, I am having alot of fun with this game. I guess I am being a little too demanding...it's just that EA have been making football games FOREVER and haven't still nearly perfected one. Do you know EA's history, budgets, resources, etc?? I do...and that's the only reason people should expect more! No more gripes from me. I will wait for FIFA 2008 and we'll talk about that game on these boards as well. There is Nooooo reason for them to mess it up, no reason. Lets keep our fingers crossed

That's the million dollar question for every sports video game, and YES! the possibilities are endless, only time will tell my friend, maybe, maybe not, EA doesn't have a good track record in the past but I have noticed a change in their philosophy with the next gen systems, they are really showing a will to revolutionize sports gaming, that's the best answer I can give you.

i did it many yrs ago, i m in Canada BC now, their office is so close to me.........i m serious...
anyway why i feel so disappointed abt PES6 is that the did have the chelsea licence before but in PE6 they take it away again and only use "London Blue" for my favourite team.omg......i dont want to see the fake name anymore and that the way they going backwards for it...
hope FIFA08 wont go bakcwards in any way...thats my thought

I hear you. They won't listen. I am sure they have people that scour the internet to get a feel for trends, reviews, etc. on all matters re: Fifa vs. PES. I am absolutely sure they do. And still, they don't listen. What they need is new directors, new people with new ideas and with the power to change things and listen. If I were them I'd put out a poll asking what new features, etc. they would like to see in Fifa 2008...we can only hope.

I've alwayts loved PES gameplay. It is by far superior to Fifa. What I hate about PES is audio (abysmal), lack of licenses. But....I love the customization. If they had the liscenses would they still have the customization???? It wouldn't be the same without the customization. I can't remember the last time I used legit teams in WE/PES and I loved it that way :sun: But it is a very deep game.
