depends

how much money you have... Minidisc is probably the better technology, and gives better results. But is more expensive, as you really need a minidisc recorder to get the most out of it..

MP3 is fine of you want something to listen to on the move, you dont lose that much quality for listening on the bus, in the gym, etc...

Ive had both but kept MP3 for going to work and whilst at gym... Go for as mcuh memory as you can afford!

Minidiscs are relatively expensive too..

Having had both, i'd say MP3 is definately the more flexible system.

Depends what you want to use it for and how much money you've got tho. If it's for exercising with and is going to get thrown around a bit, get a solid state mp3 player, 128mb is probably enough, but the more memory the better. If it's just going to be shoved in a bag on the way to skool or on the bus, get an iPod/Archos/Creative jukebox. I've got a Creative Jukebox (upgrading to an iPod soon), and althought the battery usage/rechage is a bit dodgy, i can travel to and from uni without hearing the same song twice. Or the same song 500 times if i want. Money being no option, i'd go for an iPod + firewire card to hook it to your PC.
