Gomez and Klose both injured and Kiessling doesn't get called up either. It's Kruse or one of the AMs for the next match-ups. I hope Kruse keeps his form, it'd be awesome if he gets a spot for the World Cup.

Kiessling said he won't play for Germany as long as Low's the coach ... so it wasn't a big surprise.

I doubt Kruse gets a spot for the World Cup unless there's an injury. The top two choices are Klose and Gomez, and after that it's just like 15 midfielders. I really just don't see Low calling up more than 2 strikers considering he wants to bring so many mids, and of course his mids are so good.

Khedira will be out for 6 months ... maybe he misses the coming World Cup

Btw, I'm surprised Low uses Schurrle ahead of Reus ...

Loss of Khedira might not be the worst thing in the world for Germany.

Low using Schurrle is just another in a long line of questionable decisions he's made in the attack.

Damn Pep, Lahm is playing DM for national team as well ... I think Benders deserve more playing chances since Kheidra is injured ... btw, can Kroos fit into that position?

Not really, but he should be replacing Schweinsteiger when he's injured. Is he not replacing Schweinsteiger?

E: He did.

I think Lahm at DM is worth an experiment for Germany because he's been awesome with Bayern and I think that kind of 4-1-4-1 does offer more tactical flexibility; Low tried it before, but couldn't really get the right player in that DM spot, but Lahm can do it. Only real problem I see is that Ozil and Gotze don't really have their preferred position in that system, it would almost make more sense to just go with a midfield of Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos, plus Muller and Reus on the wings. But it's hard to leave out Ozil, you know.

You can't trust Schweinsteiger with that kind of defensive duty. We've tried, trust me on this. It's the obvious solution, but it just doesn't work.

Personally I'd play Boateng in the middle and find any German fullback like Schmelzer or whoever to play FB. I don't like the idea of Hummels and Mertesacker.

Perhaps Muller ...

then

Muller
Reus-Schweini-Ozil-Kroos
Lahm
Schmelzer-Hummels-Boateng-Howedes
Neuer

The problem is Reus/Ozil/Kroos don't have the wing capabilities of Ribery/Rooney, they are more AMs, unless Low creates his own Fifa formation, 4-1-2-2-1 :)

Yeah, actually Muller, Reus, and Gotze can all do it. If we're going with the Pep Bayern strategy, then it wouldn't surprise me at all if Muller is the full time CF by year's end for club and therefore possibly country as well.

But gotta disagree with kp, it won't be kroos out on the wing, if anything I think it would be Ozil. Kroos is just so brilliant as a traditional playmaker while Ozil can be a dynamic influence on the wing. I guess that probably makes the most sense, something like

Muller
Reus-Schweinsteiger-Kroos-Ozil

Or Reus and Ozil switching sides, it doesn't really matter. It's a real shame they can't just Anschluss again and seize Alaba. I mean, it's not actually a shame they can't do that. You know what I mean.

Ozil played few matches on left side for real ... I personally didn't like that ... he's a 10 ... wingplay is not his specialty, same can be said about Kroos, but Low used him on that position before.

fuck the timing of that injury last year, Kroos should receive more respect for his abilities and Bayern success ...

The more I think of 4-1-4-1 for Germany, the more I like it ... Their midfield was outnumbered by Spain at WC and Italy at Euro, this system can prevent that ... also, the core of the team Lahm/Basti/Kroos/Muller/Gotze are getting used with this system at Bayern.

Low used Reus/Schurrle at Euro and that was insane ... I think Low has good tools but his problem is poor team lineup at times.

Absolutely. I just think he doesn't understand how players can be on good form, or how a player can come from no where to be better than a long established player at the same position. I think his use of Gomez and Podolski in particular in the last 4-6 years has been especially awful if you can single out just two players. Gomez was clearly not the right player for Germany in 2012 and Podolski was obviously inferior to, at the very least, Schurrle, Reus, and Gotze 2 years ago. When he ditched them both in the second half against Italy for Klose and Reus there was a clear shift in the game, but by then Italy had gone up 2-0 and were pretty justifiably confident sitting on the lead.

National team coaches are more loyal to their players ... it's not that easy to eliminate someone ... e.g. shittiest Torres was always in Spain squad ...

I think it's Germany's best chance to win the world cup since 1990.
