Hey Axolote, any word on when Radamel Falcao is coming back?

July...

We won, and after 10 matches we are in the top of the table...and next Week, River vs. Boca..!!!

Passarella is rotating the team a lot, and still, they play very well...

Man of the Match was IMO Gonzalo Higuain, and very close Daniel Montenegro.

El Rolfi Montenegro is playing in a superb form...

Juan Pablo Carrizo, Lucas Mareque, Augusto Fernandez, Rene Lima, Gonzalo Higuain and Gonzalo Aban, these were the players that started the match yesterday and they are all from our youth system...

Cups table, aggregated table, season table or whatever you prefer to call it. Which in my opinion should be used instead of that stupid average table to decided relegations and play-off spots.

1- Boca Juniors 60
2- Vélez Sarsfield 52
3- Gimnasia LP 51
4- River Plate 49
5- Independiente 47

18- Racing Club 28
19- Tiro Federal 23
20- Instituto Cba. 20

For the Sudamericana: Boca + River(they are invited as you see AFA+CONMEBOL ain't a good dual) and the 5 best qualified teams.

For the Libertadores: The champion of the Apertura(Boca), the champion of the clausura and the 2 best qualified teams of the table, then a third one goes to the Libertadores play-offs. If the champion of the Clausura was Boca, then it would be the 3 best qualified teams of this table and the fourth goes to the play-off.

Rosario Central vs. Tiro Federal
Olimpo B.B. Newell's Old Boys
Boca Juniors vs. River Plate <-- The super-classic.:o
Independiente vs. Banfield

Well it's interested how Estudiantes gets robbed by referees, it's the third time in a row now.

About Independiente, well Independiente shown a bit of distraction on defense at crucial moments and lack of ideas on midfield, other than that there isn't a lot more to say than maybe we lost the track for the championship, and now maybe we must get as more points as possible to enter in the cups.

Apparently Pekerman is following Ibarra and Somoza there's some interest that they play on the national team. There is already Demichellis, Mascherano, Cambiasso and maybe Battaglia is there any need of Somoza, however i guess he may be deserving that, and Ibarra? Does that mean the end of Zanetti?. Also "Maño" Ruiz would seem to be interested on calling Jonathan Santana to play at Paraguay's national team.

Cityhunter said:
Now Anderlecht wants to pay 3 miljon Euro for Armenteros. You think thats a fair deal?

Of course it's a fair deal, for that amount they would send him with no problems, although i don't think they would like the idea of Armenteros leaving.

Although this was kind of obvious because since the 90's it's been happening a lot, Independiente gets some good players to form a strong team, but it just takes some months for all them to be taken away.:nape: (:/)

Wednesday 29/3
Tiro Federal vs. Lanús
Colón Sta. Fe vs. Independiente
River Plate vs. Rosario Central
Arsenal FC vs. Estudiantes LP
Banfield vs. Olimpo B.B.
Newell's Old Boys vs. Boca Juniors

Not everything is bad news. With their victory of Argentinos Juniors, Gimnasia J. is now kind of safe from the play-offs, Instituto Cba. and Tiro Federal seem that have no escape but relegation, then by the time being Argentinos Juniors and Olimpo B.B. would be playing the play-off but now the things changed a bit on the average table, Quilmes AC is just 1 spot away from the play-off also Racing Club is 2 spots away from playing the releagation play-off.:D

Well, about Independiente... I don't think that the players are bad, but i think that they may be lacking motivation or maybe that they tend to understimate the other teams. Fine, i admit it would be better to have an attacking midfielder but this isn't a bad team the players aren't bad so i guess there's some other problem that isn't about skill, except Leyenda who maybe still thinks that he is still playing at Banfield.:nape:
Unfortunately Leeb got hit by a supporter and with all the theathre the mediocre Furchi decided to suspend the match, although it hasn't been proven yet if Carlos "el gato" Leeb really got hit by anything that came from Independiente's supporters. Also it's said that after the match was suspended the players of Banfield were chanting on the lockers "We won over Falcioni" which would kind bring up the thought of a complot from Banfield against Falcioni since he has made it public that Banfield still owes him money. But besides that Falcioni is right about "How did Leeb get hit in face if he's supposed to look at the field and not at the supporters?". Because, yes the supporters were spitting and insulting Leeb, but instead of moving away and ignore them he kept it up with them and maybe he said something that provocated him getting hit with something, although it's not proven that he got hit, he actually fainted but no one saw him getting hit, the players nor the referee nor the assistants nor Falcioni saw it because they were looking at the match, although the assistants of Leeb didn't say if they saw how he got hit or not. So Independiente show that case to the AFA about Leeb inciting the supporters for violent actions and so somewhere and somehow they would play the rest of the match, that somehow preventing Independiente's stadium suspension.

And now another rant, what the heck is the COPROCEDE doing and thinking? They come with that **** about having to reduce the capacity of the stadiums for "security matters" so like Boca and River that was played at Boca's stadium for around 60,000 people would end up being seen only by 40,000 people. Like anything would be different, or like stadiums would be more secure at all, just seeing the match the police didn't do anything about the guys from Boca that were in those VIP sections throwing ice cubes at the players and Passarella, the police didn't do anything either on Independiente's stadium about Banfield supporters beating up eachother(which was completely ignored after Leeb's thing), nor they didn't anything to prevent Leeb getting hit with a projectile(although that's a different case because like Leeb may have provocated that). The police actually stays on the field watching the match and not where the supporters are watching them. And also got to point that those weren't on the "Barrabravas" section that stuff happaned in some of the most expensive sections. So the COPROCEDE seriously needs to re-think some stuff.

Hey Diablo, I wouldn't laugh too much about Racing, Independiente aren't exactly doing that great either...Anyways, yesterday what happened at Independiente's stadium is shameful...There were about 10 or 15 imbeciles who were probably between 12 and 16 years of age who were spitting and constantly insulting Banfield's coach. The worse part was when they threw a projectile which impacted the coach's face, really disgraceful. AFA should take some serious action and ban Independiente's stadium. Since this is not only occuring with only one team, I would personally close all the stadiums and have all the games played closed doors. This cannot continue to happen, people should take things let seriously and not allow their emotions to overcome them, soccer is just a GAME...

Estas loco? Theater????? He got hit in the face with a projectile!!! I like how you put it, "He got hit by a supporter" You call those idiots supporters??? They should be in jail, they are criminals, social inadepts who should be banned from ever attending a soccer match. The TV images clearly showed how Independiente's supposed "FANS" where spitting and insulting Leeb clearly throughout the match, these dumbfu*ks were probably 15 years old. Unfortunately, the police could not act, because in Argentina the wrongdoers have more rights than the innocent people, and if the police did act, there would probably be a march about the "Human Rights" of the fans :kader: What a load of BS....

Diablo, it sounds as if you are excusing their actions.... (Because person A did something to person B, person B has the right to react in any way they want...) What kind of mentality is this?? I don't care how much Leeb incited the fans to react, the fans should not be throwing or spitting in the first place. They should be sitting in their seats or chanting for their team. This is a GAME I repeat, not a violent bloodfest. Like I said above, these idiots should be in jail (I don't care how young they are, there has to be some exemplary action). Unfortunately, in the Argentina of 2006, with all the "human rights" bullcrap this is not possible. We have to stop putting ourselves on the side of the "criminals" (because those people are not supporters, they are criminals). It happens in every stadium in Argentina, it is really disgusting...

It has to stop. It happened in Independiente, Boca and Velez...and these airheads are in the most expensive place of the stadium. Not the popular.

1- Newell's Old Boys 23
2- River Plate 22
3- Boca Juniors 21 +11
4- Gimnasia J. 21 +6
5- Vélez Sarsfield 20
6- Colón Sta. Fe 19

Newell's play against Boca. I hope they tie, and that Ortega score a goal. We have an ''easy'' match against Rosario Central, they never won an away match this Clausura, and we won all the matches at the Monumental.

Lets see how happy Boca will be at the end of the Clausura. They still have to play against Newel's, Colon, Velez, Independiente...all outside the Bombostera.

We are playing Libertadores and Clausura and we still have chances on both.

Boca is playing only the Clausura and they look so happy at the 3rd position...

Racing is in a very dangerous position. Quilmes is 1 point away. They should make some drastic changes, specially in their transfer policy...

andy, you are right there i should have refered to them as "those dickheads...", and no i don't justify their actions, i'm just saying that Leeb kind of started to play with fire he should have done what everybody else, ignore it and don't make it worse, and the TV didn't catch up the moment that Leeb got hit they shown when he was getting spitted at and insulted by the fans some minutes before but still no one saw when he got hit and the assistants of Leeb who may have seen it didn't say a word yet. Of course they should check out who those are and ban them from stadiums. And yeah, Independiente is like in the middle of the average table, yeah we should beware, but i believe we should not have problems, and here you could bring a rant over that table, because like in the general table Racing is 18th, which would make them play the play-off, but Independiente is 6/7th which shouldn't make us worry. More likely we lost the chance of the championship, but we still got to get as many points as possible so we can get on the Libertadores and not only on the Sudamericana.

Quilmes has a transfer policy.
I thought they just signed rejects from other places, except Ramirez and J.J. Serrizuela.

Yes Boca still got difficult matches, Colón is the "cementerio de los elefantes" for a reason, Newell's is though and Independiente doesn't have the karma with Boca as we do have with River and Vélez. Specially when it isn't at the Bostodromo(that's how my dad calls "La Bombonera"). No idea what the heck they are celebrating.:boohoo:

Fair Enough, Diablo...
I don't justify Leeb's actions, because I think that he is supposed to be an example and not react to the insults of the crowd. But, I don't think that these idiots should take matters into their own hands and throw stuff at him trying to hurt him, AFA has to sanction the coach if they believe that he was misbehaving.

Remember that "criminal" who had a knife (don't remember exactly what game it was) but he was in the popular...The idiots from the Racing game that began to destroy the stadium were also at the popular...and the list goes on...Until we start to develop a system in Argentina like the English did where they filmed the troublemakers and banned them from life from the stadiums, this will not stop...The AFA gives teams a slap on the wrist instead of punishing them where it really hurts with big $$$ and by having their games behind closed doors without television. Once it begins to affect their revenues, then the teams will develop a proper way of dealing with this social retards...

It was at Colón stadium, but nothing happened about it, because it's known that the police of Santa Fe is quite the worst out there, it's known for treating people badly, innocent people from away teams, on the entraces and such at stadiums like Rosario Central. Then there's case of Mendoza which is probably worse, remember the Azcurra(the player that got shot by the police in the classic of Mendoza) incident last year.

Today Castrilli said that Leeb's actions getting hit or not weren't professional at all, and i guess besides all the bad that the COPROCEDE is doing, he was right saying that.

Also Independiente would show to AFA videos of the match specially the Leeb incident taken from the security system of the stadium.

On another matter. In the second division ironically teams that must struggle to not get relegated are the ones that lead the table. Talleres Cba. won 2-1 over the champion of the Apertura Godoy Cruz, Aldosivi won 1-0 over Sportivo Ben Hur, Juventud Antoniana lost 1-0 with CAI at Comodoro Rivadavia and lost the chance to lead the table. 2 traditional teams Chacarita Juniors and Belgrano Cba. drew 2-2 in an entertaining match, Chacarita was winning 2-0 but Belgrano had a come back, also San Martin Mza. won 4-1 over Tigre.
In the table Talleres Cba. leads with 21 points, San Martin SJ and Aldosivi in second place have 20 points, Juventud Antoniana has 19 and then Chacarita Juniors, Godoy Cruz and San Martin Mza. all with 17.
San Martin SJ have a pending match with Nueva Chicago that is being played right now, if San Martin wins then they would lead the table.
On the next matchday, both San Martin's will meet in San Juan, Talleres will visit Almagro, Aldosivi will visit Belgrano, Godoy Cruz will play against El Porvenir and the classic Chacarita will meet Tigre.

We've torched a lot of idols recently but I've never been a big Astrada fan. Masche remains the best #5 I've seen come through River.

Last thing, someone (maybe El diablo rojo) who knows about Gustavo Colman who plays for Chacarita juniors, if you could tell me about how he plays and if he's any good?

I'm not going to touch the topic of violence as there is just way too much to say.(N)

Hello Guys and Independiente fans,

Some update about Nicolas Frutos. This weekend he scored both goals in our 0-2 win against Title-rival Brugge. With this win we are in pole position ofr the championship and for CL! Frutos is great and really a good addition to our team. He makes the whole team play better. The thing is he says he is having a hard time at training and still only at 80% of his capacitys; he is not used to train that hard in Argentina.

Anderlecht is also still very interested in Armenteros...

Finally we won today against San Lorenzo our first three points!!!! What tension there was at the stadium, yet all of Racing's supporters were chanting whether we were winning or tied (and that makes me even prouder of being from Racing!!!)... :rockman: :rockman:

25' SH Gonzalo Choy 2-1
43' SH Pedro Cardona 3-1

Racing Club vs. San Lorenzo 1-0 :o
32' SH Diego Menghi 1-0

Racing won.:wootman:
Racing's victory gives them some more breath with the relegation issue, also Argentinos defeat helps them a bit too, but they will have to face eachother the on the week-end. Also Quilmes who was a bit like Racing won too, but Lanús and Olimpo, other complicated teams with the relegation still got to play tomorrow. Although Olimpo's is a bit more complicated since they visit Banfield but Lanús visits Tiro Federal. So the bottom of the average table(for now) is like this.

13- Racing Club 1.299 139/107
14- Lanús 1.292 137/106
15- Gimnasia J. 1.29 40/31
16- Quilmes AC 1.289 138/107
17-Argentinos Juniors 1.188 82/69
18- Olimpo B.B. 1.122 119/106
19-Instituto Cba. 0.942 65/69
20-Tiro Federal 0.766 23/30

Well so the calc would say that Racing needs 3 more points to avoid direct relgation(however it seems that Instituto and Tiro's situation is unavoidable) and 16 more points to avoid the play-off. Campagnuiolo's dodgy save was funny and then he kisses the ball. And why does he wear a pink shirt instead of wearing the black or the grey one?

Colman isn't outstanding but is a good player, however Chacarita's best thing is at the keep, that guy Aguirre is quite good keeper. And Nueva Chicago got Higuain's brother Federico Higuain.

I saw the 2 goals of Frutos the other day the second one looked like a mistake from the defenders. Yes, probably Frutos is not used to train in the way of Europe yet, it's known that some pay more attention to the physical training and others to the game training. Armenteros would be a good addition but he isn't doing as good as he used to some matches ago now, some say it would be too soon for him to leave, and maybe it was too son for him to leave Banfield even. And yes Independiente still couldn't find a replacement for Frutos yet, Caggiano was supposed to but he was taken to Guingamp, the 2 youths Sosa and Torres were given away on loans, so now we have Bustos Montoya, Miranda and Pereyra , i guess Miranda could do it if he gets more time to play.

Also about Independiente it's said that there have been some frictions between Falcioni and some directives so if Independiente doesn't qualify to the Libertadores(the goal that was set at the start of the season) Falcioni would not get a new contract with Independiente. If the championship finished today, Independiente would be playing the play-off for the Libertadores, so not everything is lost yet, also Independiente would use a 3-5-2 against Colón.:o

So it seems i was right about River having Petrobras in front and Lubrax in the back like Racing.:p

Colman isn't outstanding but is a good player, however Chacarita's best thing is at the keep, that guy Aguirre is quite good keeper.

Thanks, I was looking for some info on him but I haven't found anything and I can't watch anything from the B Nacional.

Ya, and Flamengo has the opposite with Lubrax on the front and Petrobras on the back. Honestly, I don't care who sponsors River as long as the sponsor doesn't clutter the jersey and they pay a lot of money. :fool: The new jersey is perfect. :rockman:
