What happened to Montero? Ruggeri said that he was going to play 100% vs. River. I actually wake up early to go to work (so I could come home early and watch the game) and he's not even a sub.

All i know is that the Argentinian press went crazy (happy) when Montero aparently returned 300,000 US$ because "he felt bad for San lorenzo". This was "official" until montero came out and said "Are you crazy?????" :nape: :funny:

After that I dont know what happened. (He was a good buy for San Lorenzo, every game he was in he was man of the match, but too bad that equals to like 4-5 games in the past year (Pathetic)

Montero has to come back to Penarol and save them from going to 2nd division. :p (Only 20 points from Cerro, you neeeeeeeeever know <I already asume Nacional will beat them, so they are 17 points <5 games> from going to 2nd division.............that would be beyond the funniest thing in maybe South American football history (Its like Boca going to 4th division in Argentina out of nowhere, River fans would celebrate that religiously)

San Lorenzo vs. River Plate 0-0

Boca Juniors vs. Arsenal FC 1-0

The table after 15 matches.

1- Boca Juniors 31
2- River Plate 29
3- Newell's Old Boys 28
4- Lanús 27
5- Gimnasia J. 26
6- Gimnasia LP 25
7- Vélez Sarsfield 23
8- Olimpo B.B. 22
9- San Lorenzo 21 +1
10- Estudiantes LP 21 -2
11- Colón Sta. Fe 20
12- Independiente* 19 +3
13- Banfield* 19 0
14- Quilmes AC 19 -6
15- Argentinos Juniors 17 -1
16- Arsenal FC 17 -2
17- Rosario Central 15
18- Tiro Federal 11
19- Racing Club 9 <-- Well at least moved a bit from the bottom.:funny:
20- Instituto Cba. 8

Cups table, season table, etc.

1- Boca Juniors 71
2- Gimnasia LP 62
3- River Plate 57
4- Vélez Sarsfield 56
5- Independiente* 51
6- Lanús 50
7- Estudiantes LP 49 -1
8- San Lorenzo 49 -5
9- Newell's Old Boys 48
10- Banfield* 47
11- Colón Sta. Fe 46
12- Olimpo B.B. 45 -1
13- Argentinos Juniors 45 -2
14- Gimnasia J. 44
15- Arsenal FC 39
16- Quilmes AC 38
17- Rosario Central 37
18- Racing Club 34
19- Tiro Federal 26
20- Instituto Cba. 23

If relegation depended of this table too, Tiro and Instituto would be getting relegated like on the average table, but Racing and Central would be playing the play-off unlike on the average table where Argentinos and Olimpo will be playing it.
To the Libertadores: Assuming Boca becomes champion again then the qualified teams would be, Boca, Gimnasia, River and Vélez and Independiente would have to play the play-off.
To the Sudamericana: Assuming everything stayed like this. River and Boca invited, then, Gimnasia, Vélez, Independiente, Lanús and Estudioantes.

Average table(bottom).:junior:

13- Gimnasia J. 1.294 44/34
14- Quilmes AC 1.29 142/110
15- Racing Club 1.29 142/110
16- Rosario Central 1.29 142/110
17- Argentinos Juniors 1.222 88/72
18- Olimpo B.B. 1.154 127/110
19- Instituto Cba. 0.902 65/72
20- Tiro Federal 0.764 26/34

Instituto and Tiro Federal already relegated, Olimpo's situation seems impossible to change. Argentinos may be on the same situation since they need to win all the 4 matches left. It seems that there will not be any surprise.

Top scorers table.

1- Ernesto Farías(River Plate) 11
2- Martín Palermo(Boca Juniors) 9
2- Gonzalo Vargas(Gimnasia LP) 9
4- Sergio Agüero(Independiente) 8
5- Ezequiel Maggiolo(Olimpo B.B.) 7
5- Ignacio Scocco(Newell's Old Boys) 7

An interesting detail of the 5 top scorers 3 come from Estudiantes LP, Farias, Palermo and Maggiolo.:o

The next matchday, the 16th.

Friday 21/4
Independiente vs. Gimnasia J.

Saturday 22/4
Estudiantes LP vs. Olimpo B.B.
Colón Sta. Fe vs. Lanús
Newell's Old Boys vs. San Lorenzo

Sunday 23/4
Quilmes AC vs. Racing Club
Tiro Federal vs. Gimnasia LP
Banfield vs. Instituto Cba.
Arsenal FC vs. Rosario Central
Vélez Sarsfield vs. Boca Juniors
River Plate vs. Argentinos Juniors

Heh, it's fun now most of the people, except part of the media:nape:, admits how lucky is Boca, that they play horribly but still win.

About Independiente's match... Evidently there's still a problem about playing at home, also it's amazing the bad luck we have, Estudiantes makes 3 chances and they get 3 goals, while we make more chances than them and they go very close from the post.(:/)
From the regular of Independiente, Armenteros was the best. The rest of the midfield was so-so.
It seems that Falcioni will not get a new contract at the end of the season, even if Independiente qualifies to the Libertadores. The possible replacement comes between José Burruchaga and Marcelo Bielsa, it was also pretended that Gallego would return but doesn't seem likely since apparently Independiente still owes him some money. Also it seems that it will be impossible to retain Agüero for the next season.

On the 2nd division 3 of the 4 top teams lost their matches, San Martín Mza. won 3-0 over Juventud Antoniana, San Martin SJ lost 4-1 with Huracan, who finally seems to getting the things right, and in the classic of Cordoba, with over 45,000 people on the Olympic stadium of Cordoba Talleres Cba. lost 2-1 with the team of Andrés Aimar, brother of Pablo Aimar, who also scored a goal, Belgrano Cba.. Atlético Rafaela drew 0-0 with Tigre And Nueva Chicago and Chacarita drew 1-1. So in the table San Martin SJ still leads with 27, Talleres and San Martín Mza. follow with 26, Juventud Antoniana has 25, Atlético Rafaela 24, Nueva Chicago 23, Chacarita Juniors 22, and Tigre and El Porvenir 21 this shows that the difference between the 1st and the 10th is 6 points. On the coming matchday, San Martin SJ plays against Atlétito Rafaela, Tigre will receive Talleres, San Martin Mza. will play against Chacarita, Juventus Antoniana will go against Aldosivi and Belgrano against El Porvenir.

Diablo, I wouldn't laugh too much at Racing...the gap is closing....Aguero-Dependiente seem to be falling quite quickly in the standings...Aguero better go to a European club for his own good...

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
I'm starting to believe that Agüero leaving could be good for Independiente too, i mean without Agüero the "Agüero-dependence" would end, so the team should play better as a whole and not just by a single person, and the youths like Fabro, Bruno, Fredes and the others when they return from the loans will get more space. But seeing Argentinos and Olimpo's situation they will end up playing the play-off so Racing and the rest don't need to worry at least not this year.

How are his passing skills, can he feed the strikers? If Bayern buy him he'd probably play attacking midfielder behind the two strikers.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
On Bayern he could probably play alongside Ballack and 1 or 2 strikers. The matter is that he's not a pure attack midfielder he's more of a finisher than a play maker. Although it's not confirmed if he'll go to Bayern because his family in case of a move they would prefer Spain, for the language, the culture, etc.

andy, i heard that if this guy De Tomasso gets Merlo to coach Racing again, he would have 9 million of USD to get players.

Thats good to hear, hopefully we are the ones he wants to go to. How much is his asking price? Last I heard it was 20 M Euros....seems like a bit too much...infact way too much.

El Diablo Rojo

Well it could increase if goes to the World Cup, since the supposed transfer would be in June, and that's the sum Independiente wants 20 million of €. But now i'm hearing Manchester Utd. wanted Riquelme for 12 million. Hmm...

20 million € is way too much for him isnt it? Damn, I would have thought that 10 million € would be enough.

I hope it's true. He's a corrupt moron who sells any player he can and pockets the money. The amount of money River has made in player transfers in just the past 6-7 years is astounding, and to think we can't buy any big name players and depend on loan deals or partial ownership of players. :nape:

And the news gets worse, today it was reported that Aguilar has sold Erik Lamela to FC Porto. This is the kid Barcelona tried to sign two years ago but an agreement was reached with his family to keep him at River.

For some reason, Aguilar always reminded me of that character of the Simpsons....The owner of Itchy and Scratchy....

According to Independiente chairman Julio Comparada there have been first talks with Bayern officials over the easter weekend and they most likely will not be able to keep him.

With Ballack's departure we can offer him plenty of playing time which is important for such a young player.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Oh yeah, Ballack is leaving Bayern i forgot. Apprently Comparada would offer a contract for 10 years to Agüero, the numbers haven't been revealed yet, but they say that if he accepts he would be the best paid player of Argentina, but it's still quite doubtful he will accept.:o

For tomorrow, with both Bustos Montoya and Miranda injured the youth Federico Gonzalez will make his debut on Independiente tomorrow.

The owner of Itchy & Scratchy co. Hmm if i recall correctly, Roger Meyers Jr. but actually he wasn't corrupt just that his father stole the ideas for some characters.

Apparently Macri doesn't like Basile due a "lack of seriousness", so to put it easily, with Basile Boca played 2 tournaments and won them but they still don't like him. Hmm...

San Lorenzo plans their pre-season. San Lorenzo got offered a good amount of money to do a pre-season tour in California where they would play some friendlies with mexican teams and maybe even some european teams, but Ruggeri doesn't want to know anything about such, he prefers to do the pre-season in Salta. However Ruggeri said that if they bring the players he wants for the next season then he would accept to do the tour. Some of the players in question, would include 2 returns: Federico Lusenhoff and the less likely to happen Bernardo Romeo, who already rejected previous offers. In Gimnasia LP in case that Gonzalo Vargas left they would want Sava to return.

That 10-year contract Independiente offered Aguero is ridiculous. I don't see how Aguero will stay, as any European club can easily match and/or surpass what Independiente will offer. I read the asking price for Aguero is 20 million Euros, all paid at once, nothing paid in quotes. :o If that's true, Independiente will be well-off financially for the next few years

It seems Ferrari is set to be sold by River to a group of investors, who will then sell him to Sevilla. I expected much more from Ferrari, he's been mediocre at best and has very little marking ability for a defender. River paid 1.000.000 for him, and the offer to buy him is at least double that figure, so it's makes sense from a business perspective.

It would be very sad if Aguero leaves Independiente, he is only 17, has a lot of future. I hope that Aguero accepts the offer from Comparada. And i dont think that Bayern can be the right place for him (I would love to play there :) ) I see him better in Spain.

Ferrari is playing in a mediocre level, but i think he can improve. IMO he should stay. He can do an amazing couple with Santana on the right side, like Dominguez and Zapata in the left.

Apparently Velez will put everything against Boca. But no Somoza, Castroman and Zarate, they are injured.

Come on Velez! :)

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Yeah, i don't think it would do him any good going to Bayern i guess he would be more fit in a place like Villarreal or Sevilla or Zaragoza.

Speaking of River transfers a guy that Ruggeri wants for San Lorenzo is Gustavo Obermann.

I wonder what will River do about the Apertura now since they will be playing Corinthians on the Libertadores.
