What are the requirments for the squads of Olympic teams?
All I know is that it is not the regular national side (except for the women)

You've got to be 23 or under 23 years of age. Although managers can select up to 3 players with more than 23 years.

Anyone have a site or way to check the rosters of the teams (if they're out yet)

and does anyone know if Sir Alex was able to convince Portugal not to use C Ronaldo.

naw, Italy will probably play counter attack on us and hump us.

We got a chance if we take defenders like Carvalho and Andrade or Miguel as the 3 players with more than 23 tho

There is no England National Team at the Olympics, I think the reason behind that is because it has something to do with the fact that there are four seperate Football Associations in Great Britain (English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish), and if we wanted to have a British National Team at the Olympics, the Four associations would probably have to merge, which we all don't want.

That would signal the end for Scottish and Welsh football! ;-)

I was thinking more under 23. Of course Giggs and Carroll for a British national team. What a shame Giggsy didn't play for England... and the great Mark Hughes! (Going back a bit there)

No, its not a shame really. He was never eligible, also his parents are Welsh. He was only eligible for England Schoolboys because he went to an English school, and if he ever was eligible for England, I'm 100% sure he would've played for Wales anyway, and rightfully so.

He had captained the England Schoolboys team as a youngster, but was only eligible as he was attending school in England - he was not eligible to play for England at a higher level. Being born and raised in Wales til he was 7, with both parents and grandparents being Welsh, he was only eligible to play for Wales.

He would have achieved a lot more by playing for England, I think it's a shame- his international career was stifled. He's lived in England since the age of seven I believe...
