I've seen a lot of threads spread out here and there under the name of FIFA 07 Demo; so, here is a thread that you all can share ideas, thoughts and multimedia of FIFA 07 Demo mainly for PC version, and any other console if you like.

Have fun and enjoy. I'll be providing you with a little review on the Demo and some videos and pictures.

Until now I have to admit it: FIFA 07 seriously nailed it, I mean seriously it rocks!

What I noticed for first is that EA reduced the field size: from the 6450.0 x 4300.0 of Fifa 2006 to the 5760.0 x 3840.0 to of Fifa 2007. Thinking about the realization of the last gameplay for CEP and the experiments done with Rinaldo and Fifaccitiu I have to admit that I'm VERY satisfied about this :)

My PC ... P4 2Ghz / 1Gb DDR / 80GbHD / GF6600GT 128.

Tried a lot of settings , best so far (less jeky frame rate ) 800 x 600 Med. This still gives me a lot of frame rate jerks to the screen at kickouts and shots to clear from defence. Line tear mid screen and 2 horizontal ones again at kickouts ..

But ball on the deck this so far has been the best setting to stop overall frame rate jeking , though it still happens with the ball on the deck too ..

At times there is a speed up with the frame rate and this make the twists and turns of the cpu players look even worse than they already are .... Why a cpu player in acres of space down the wing running forward would want to stop , turn sharp left then right , turn 180 then back again with no one near him , then continue his run is beyond me ..

When the game does run at what seems a noraml pace , the game is still to fast or the players running and animation there arms and legs move far to fast and this has nothing to do with frame rate ...

Now that is out of the way , the game is a step in the right direction , but shots are way to fast , even throw outs from my keeper under arm flew at a rate of knots! Its no doubt the best FIFA Ive seen , but its still lack the feel you get from PES ...

For some reason 90+% os shots are low ones , no matter how little or how much power you give a shot , it leave the players boot at a rate of knots and stays low ? The highest Ive seen is just about shoulder hight ... I could be wrong but the R2 tricks seem that you can only do then at walking pace, no fast running drops of shoulder of change of feet ..

I would give it an 7 out of 10 , I would like to see it on a console with the frame rate screen jerking gone and hopefully the speed of the cpu players running animation and shot turned down. One other thing from the demo and I hope it was just my 2 shots , I hit a couple of screamers from about 23yrds out. Coming from the left I hit 2 shot across the face of goals and the hits the junction of post and bar , and dropped like a lead ballon .. just to the side of the post ... they should have rebounded out , not dropped like stones ...

Some personal consideration about the new fifa 2007 formats:

The first very positive surprise is about the ai settings of the new incoming fifa: just in the first lines I discover that in Fifa 2007 we will have reduced field size, just how together with Fifaccitiu here at CEP we did during this summer: instead of the old 6450 x 4300 field size we have now a 5760 x 3840: CEP 2.0 introduced for first a 5300.0 x 3890 size, so you can imagine how much we are satisfied about this decision of EA. A great beginning, indeed.

Following the analysis of the new settings I noticed new "DFK" settings: strings related to ball spin that, I think will be the core of the new promised ball physics: these new physics are tuned by dozens of new ball behaviour settings, so at least we can be sure that EA really studied new solutions for this aspect of the game. There some more new strings about shooting with very detailed commented description so I'm sure that tuning the gameplay will be more interesting this year. There new difficulty parameters too, about aerial contrast, "transition" pressure (maybe EA took some advices from Mourinho :D) and these too seem very interesting. Good surprises from ai then, we'll have to check how all this works in game.

Let's pass to the gui elements: Minikits are absolutely the same, and this is a very good new for conversion tasks, same for Logos and Flags. Kit format is different: the new format allows more detail and sleeves (no more blur league logos) but a bit less detail on fron shirt too, while it introduces a new system for captain band that is a an external element inside the fsh (an 8x8 pixel square), different from the kit fsh itself: this is indeed interesting, but will present surely some incovenience for a fast conversion of the kits: I doubt that a fsh without this 8x8 external element will work in game..

The last consideration are about the database, that represents an evolution of the fifa 2006 db: much more generical faces, for first: there are about 150, and much more shoes by default too: about 50. Many career settings and tables have been moved or created inside the db, as for cpu approaches, offers, expectations, loaned players list, player xp growth (yeah, looks like there are a bit of "rpg elements" in fifa this year :D), team prestige (that changes during the season) and, most interesting of all, a new table related to "youth accademy": most probably we'll have to let grow young talents in our club and this is indeed a very interesting addon in the career modality. The playerwrite (name, surname, development, contract, birthyear) and the players (stats info) tables have been unified, and this is very useful for a good editing: players have now new 0-100 statistics: Passing has been divided in Shortpassing/Longpassing, there is Finishing, Reactions (a non-gk version of Reflexes), GKDiving for goalies and Freekicks ability. Players have now very interesting unique semi-rpg attributes: i.e. being inflexible, capacity of identification in the club, prone to scandal (!!), mediadarlin, low training work etc. etc.: VERY interesting and a very great idea. Players now have a learningspeed and a playing style that has to be discovered together with an international reputation.

The structure of the tournaments seems almost the same, there is a new goodie about the name shown on the players shirts that now can be setted as you want (for example GIO for Giovanni Van Bronkhost etc.), the new settings of the teams are very interesting too because you can set the amount of the initial budget of the team: finally you can have very good teams, for example the south american ones, that anyway doesn't have a good budget. There is a new division between the international and the domestic prestige too. On the overall we can without doubts affirm that EA REALLY did something to improve its game and to offer something new: only playing we'll discover if this work already gave its fruits: personally I'm very optimistic about the 2007 incarnation of Fifa.

there has been alot of speculation on just how good it really is. It was given 9/10 in a magazine and i though it lived up to that. beat all expectations i had.

In general i like it.
The gameplay is much better and the shooting system much more realistic.
I like very much the new corner kicks system. I almost score a direct corner kick with Deco :)

But for some reason i can´t do any dribbles even with Ronaldo or Ronaldinho :nape: :nape: :nape: and the crosses are too low but nothing that a gameplay patch can´t fix :)

Does anybody have the same problem with dribbles and special moves?

Ok, Here is my mini review: (I'll update it as soon as I notice something new):

1. Ball physics: (9/10)

Unbelievable! I read about 6 reviews on FIFA 07 but I never thought or even believed that it changed this much. ball physics now have many new features, starting with the back spin, which Booth (FIFA 07 Producer) talked about. This feature has enabled some unlimited and unpredictable ball moves, it's almost like if the ball has it's own physics now (not really, but almost). I like how every shot and every pass or loop can be curved as the user wants, in other words, if you pass the ball and exactly when the ball leaves the player's foot twist your control stick right or left and a ball curve will happen! fantastic. What's even great about the spin and curve control is how sometimes you'll accidentally move your control stick to the wrong side (maybe for turning around or just for any reason) the ball will go to a random location, which means more unpredictable and real game play, and trust me this is so cool! I found out that EA has added some new codes for making the ball slower when it goes higher, just like real life ball. Amazing.

2. Free Kicks: (8/10)

With the ball spin action, no need anymore for the right analogue stick! :) It is now more like PES style of shots yet more realistic ball curves! Another cool fantastic thing is the ability to chose your free kick player on the spot, simply while the player is ready to shot the free kick, hold the L1 (the 6) key and a small diagram (which also looks a bit like PES's player states slides) will show up and ask you which player to chose for the kick. Fantastic! No more up and downs! the height of your shot depends on the power you give it and on your spin and curve control. :)

3. Animations: (8/10)

OMG, At last REAL JUMPS, players now seriously fight for the ball, they jump high and try so hard to get the ball, This also means more fouls, which is super cool. In some situations I felt like fighting for real to get the ball. I just never had this feeling ever on any older FIFA releases or even PES games. A lot of new shooting animations, passing, running, falling... All great stuff. Fantastic!

4. Sounds: (9/10)

Not a very huge improvement but very noticeable. Chants are more real and the fade in and out without you noticing, you can feel every play just by listening to the fans yelling and screaming. :)

5. The menus and interface: (7/10)

Very nice, almost the same as FIFA 06 but now it is faster to navigate throw the menu, no need to wait for a lame transition between menus, actually there are transitions but they are now much faster. I love the new background pictures, they are more realistic and takes into the football dream! :D

Here are some pictures from the out-game menus:

Enjoy, and wait for more reviews.

Ok i've finally play tested the demo and my thoughts and ratings are as follows.

Graphics 8/10

They have taken a good step forward and not backwards this time. Whole presentation is good.

Sound 9/10

Absolute quality! They have made a few fantastic editions, which only enhance the sound for the better.

i.e Calling a players name as he's in on goal, and the crowd atmos is very good.

Playability 7/10

I was suprised how much different it was to 06, a step in the right direction, but only a step!

The ball physics are better, no doubting that, but the shooting still feels very numb as before.

And the long shots have been flying in, some without me feeling like i'd achieved it!

Player control is still not as responsive as say PES which makes you feel a bit part in the match.

Corners, freekicks are much better, but the only thing that stands out for me is a total lack of achievment. Why on PES does it have me jumping up when I crash one in from long distance? I tell you why, konami have captured the real essence of football, where fifa 07 for all it's improvements has not.

Overall 8/10

Good but not worthy of a purchase yet, unless they gameplay has sharpened up come the full release.

Shame as I was obviously wanting more.

I was expecting (or rather "hoping" as EA often fail to deliver) an improvement over FIFA 06 but not this much of an improvement. I've been playing WE10 since April and I can happily say that once FIFA 07 comes out for the 360, I won't be playing any more Konami titles until the next one. For me, FIFA 07 hits the sweet spot. The gameplay is vastly improved from ball physics to fluidity of movement. The reaction times of the players is spot on and there is very little to gripe about. There are far more annoyances in PES5 and WE10 than in FIFA 07 in my opinion and this is what I've been waiting for from EA since FIFA 98. Don't get me wrong, I liked FIFA 06 but not enough to stop playing Konami soccer titles but this one to me is a Konami-killer if the 360 version is even 5% better than this.

Can't wait until the full version. I love this game.
