Poor lad. The worst fears of Michael Owen and England have been realised after a scan revealed the striker will miss the next five months with cruciate ligament damage.

Even 5 months is pretty optimistic by the looks of it when ya consider they won't be able to operate until the swelling is down, which could take a fortnight like. Throw in rehab, the elusive search for form and the battle to overcome the mental barrier after such a lengthy layoff; for all practical purposes, his season is a write off. But he's a strong lad, he'll be back.

Michael Owen is one of finest strikers i've ever seen play!

That sucks... he's been very unlucky recently, being plagued by so many injuries... :nape:

I hope he recovers fast, and i hope he shines in the domestic league, and at Euro-2008, like he did in WC 98... in-form, he's one of the best strikers in the World, no doubt about that! :jap:

completly agree but this injuries are killing him.....i doubt he will ever be like in 98

Ronaldo isnt unlucky, he's just a lazy bitch. Michael Owen is at least trying to fight back and recover. That hat trick against West Ham back in Jan/Feb I think it was proves that hes still got it. He really just has been very unlucky, and its a damn shame as he's my favorite player in all the world.

Ronaldo would never join a "lesser" team to advance his world cup hopes, but thats what owen did and now he's out after 3 games. I know he wasnt playing his best, but to go all the way, England wouldve needed the one or two poaching goals he is good for
