River will win this just because they have one of CM's legendary youngsters, Daniel Montenegro :rockman:

3-2 River

Montenegro x2, Gallardo
Palermo, Palacio

Alianza

Youth Team
Both Boca and River are coming in with good form, its going to be great to watch. Im suggesting that el Rolfi Montengro is going to be important in the match. :ewan:

Apparently neither Gallardo or Farias are confirmed to start this sunday... :boohoo:

If they dont make it, Gonzalo Aban (19y) and Gonzalo Higuain (19y) will start...

I predict another 0-0 like in the Apertura.:jambo:

Apparently Basile is trying something weird such as placing Calvo instead of Krupoviesa and other odd things.

Ah yeah the captain of Boca is Ibarra not Abbondanzieri and i'm kind of surprised that Pezzotta will be the referee once again.

1) Boca is much better than River (player wise).

2) After Pasarela stabbed Uruguay in the back and ran off to Italy, I really cant find a way to cheer for River.

3) Insua/Palacios= :rockman:

Boca 2-0 :D <With Pasarela having his usual collective heart attacks during big games :p >

I disagree, I think River is waaay better player-wise, but then again this is a superclasico and anything can happen.
The only players worth mentioning in Boca are Palacio, Gago and Insua.
Palermo, Chelo Delgado, and Scheloto are a joke, I can't believe they are still part of the team. Boca should definitely use some of their young players, I'm sure they have plenty of talented kids in the youth division of the club. Bilos is doing horrible right now, Krupo and Diaz are inconsitent and el Pato is not what he used to be.

River on the other hand has a good keeper in Lux, a good attack with Montenegro (hes ripping it right now) and Farias (boring to watch but can score anytime) not to mention the fact that they have growing talent in that area with Gonzale Higuain and Aban (Boca have to be thankful that Figueroa is injured). The only place I see a weakness in River is on the defense. Ferrari is great with the ball in his feet but he can't defend for sh*t and Dominguez is basically the same thing. The only player that excels in the defense is Caceres (and no, I'm not being biased because he's paraguayan, any River fan can tell you how much of an important player he is for the team)

My prediction: Boca 0 River 1
Goal: Farias

That's the problem with Boca actually, that big lie going on for many years now that they were doing an excellent job on the youth teams, now there you have it, the only players that came from their youth are Gago and Silvestre, then Nery Cardozo who never gets to play, then Eberto who actually got ditched away and was ignored because Boca's managment "doesn't like him", but he was a good project for a keeper and he even played the U20 world cup of 2003, and others just gets thrown around to other lower income clubs. But well that's the marvelous Boca.

And then again you have teams like Vélez, Banfield, Argentinos Juniors, etc, that from their starting 11 you have many players that come from the youth teams, for example of the starting 11 of Vélez 9/10 players come from the youth teams.

IMO the best players of Boca are Abbondanzieri, Ibarra, Gago and Palacio. But Palacio and Ibarra arent in a great level...

River best right now are Lux, Caceres, Santana, Zapata and Montenegro...if we are tight in defense, Santana and Montenegro can score anytime...they are on fire...

Im confident, but it may happend like the last clasico at the Bombonera, we shoot from every angle and Abbondanzieri stoped all...then Delgado had one f*cking free kick and we lost. This is how the clasico is...you have to score and then defend and counter attack...

If we had Figueroa right now....my god... :nape:

Can't wait for the superclasico, things are heating up. Macri commented on the River stadium and said it has a "frozen atmosphere". Funny, considering we fill our stadium for a superclasico and Boca can't.

Boca has a youth system, it's called C.A. Banfield. :jambo: Every year they don't produce anything from their youth system and head over to Banfield and buy their players. They're already in negotiations to bring Datolo for the Apertura. :jap:

River and Velez have the best youth systems in Argentina. There is no debating this, just look at all the players that have come up through the ranks and have made it in europe or are now in primera. And soon the world will know the name of the next River plate star, Diego Buonanotte. :rockman:

1) River Plate has a better collection of individual players than Boca. Whether that will reflect in the score of the game is a different story.

2) The AUF screwed over Passarela and didn't give him what he asked for. He wanted his players to arrive early to face Paraguay and they didn't want that. Besides, who would want to stick around with the Mafia dictating which players get called up? Casal controls your national team and Figueredo is his puppet.

Read any report from any player that played on the uruguayan seleccion under Passarela and they all sing his praises. Montero is probably the most notable one, nothing but praises.

Phenomenal player, without him the entire defense would be chaos. He has brought such stability and calm to the defense in the short time he has been here. It looks like River is already trying to buy him, far before his loan expires. It's a shame he doesn't get any playing time for the Paraguayan NT, he's among the best in South America, on par with Lugano.

Macri doesn't know anything about football....

And in terms of youth system, you take River's from 1990 to this year, the results speaks for it self...

Anyway, Macri words are so shallow...he is a bussiness man...He wants to make Boca like Real Madrid...

For me, Macri is a genious. He did so much with Boca that it is unbelievable. He made Boca into a brand name that is known around the world. Under his management, Boca has won many titles (both national and international), so there is nothing we can take away from him. There is no other team from our country in the last 6 to 10 years that has won as much as Boca (That speaks of wise managerial decisions) I hope other teams took his approach to running a team.

For the super-clasico, I could care less who wins as long as it is an entertaining match and their is no violence...

First off "Boca does have a youth system....It's called C.A. Banfield", that was hilarious. lol (Y)

2) I dont care if Passarela called up Vicente Sanchez and Nacional told him to wait 5 more days because they had Libertadores, you dont leave a country IN THE MIDDLE OF THE QUALIFIERS.
I remember Brazil's reporters even saying "Yeah...Uruguay might as well just forfit the rest of their games " (Funny that we beat Brazil again 1-0 2 fechas later).

Casal has brought Pasarela to the NT and became good friends during the time. Pasarela has 100% control of the team and who he chose (for god sakes he chose Cohelo in the starting lineup, not even Casal could get away with that).

Boca's defence is very good, they have the NT goalie of Argentina (which Lux is not better than). Plus Palermo (who always is a danger), Palacios (huge future star), Insua (great player), Delgado (River's father returns to spend some time with his sons :p)

River is good too, but I dont see them beating Boca.

El Diablo Rojo

Starting XI
Vélez sure has the best youth nowadays, River has good youth teams too, but don't forget the teams from Rosario and specially Argentinos Juniors, lesse from this one we got: Sorin, Placente, Coloccini, D'Alessandro, Battaglia, Insúa, Riquelme, Biglia and Machin, between others, Maradona himself started there.

I guess eventually Boca will find themselves in troubles for their european wannabe lack of action in the youth teams, specially ditching players away, unlike other teams who are trying to improve them, and now you see some teams like Vélez, Banfield, River and others now who give space to the youth players, for example Independiente giving the chance to Enzo Bruno, a promising youth, i mean even Racing who is last is giving space to their youths.

I guess the defense of River will be: Ferrari-Caceres-Tula-F. Dominguez.

And face it. Delgado is old now, Palermo is only great for tap-ins but nothing else, Schellotto is good but not letting him play is making him out of shape, and Palacio lately just dives. I'll admit Ibarra is good so is Battaglia but there is something about Battaglia that they don't want to tell. Ah yeah it seems Calvo will play instead of Ibarra anyway.
