Parading new signings - do you wish your club did it?

This past week we have witnessed the difference between signings for Real Madrid being welcomed, and those of English teams.

Traditionally, english clubs do it very low key - perhaps a shot with the shirt and scarf, a handshake with the manager.

Contrast that to the razmatazz of a Real Madrid unveiling, 80,000 for Ronaldo, 50,000 for Kaka and even 18,000 for Raul Abiol. Barca did it with Ronaldinho too.

Is it about time that the likes of United and Chelsea began to hold welcome parties for their new players - or do you think that the grand productions we have witnessed are over the top?

I think it tends to make United look small time in comparison. If we signed even the best available - there wouldn't be a 76,000 capacity event at Old Trafford to mark it.. Yet Madrid have got Slave's face across the world in one move.

Why should the english clubs do it, I don't see why they do it anyway. It's just a time consuming piece of waste in my opinion.

You really need to get over this C.Ronaldo thing, dude.

I don't enjoy having my club disrespected - but in anycase;

This is something I've been wondering about for a little while, I think it's great to open up the stadium and let the fans come in and welcome the new player - even if they did one where all the new players were shown off together it'd be something.

The club would gather fans in and be able to sell more merchandise, as well as send a message across the world along the lines of "look who we've just got"

From doing this, Real Madrid get exposure on mainstream TV together with igniting the dreams of any young player who would be giddy at the thought that they one day could have that happen to them.

Holding up a shirt at United's training ground doesn't quite have the same feeling about it - does it? (Unless you're a die hard fan of United of course)

It really does make United look small in comparison - not the image that a globally monolithic company wants to cultivate.

United are one of the biggest teams in the world - maybe it's time they started acting like it.

These european brands are weak. My Washington Redskins were worth more than Real Madrid last year by .2 billion dollars and Washington is just a city in the US, and a small one at that. Real Madrid markets across the entire globe. I suggest you bring in more American Owners and they will teach you how to run a sports franchise. The proof is in the numbers. There is only going to be a few soccer teams left in Europe in about 10 years because so many are in debt and badly managed.

Are you threatening me? Why would I only be here 2 more months, please explain. I made a comment based on some facts. Euro football has been around forever and you have NFL teams filling up the 10 top most expensive franchises in the world. Your crazy if you dont think an investor from another country would buy the Redskins, the fact is the NFL would not sell a franchise to a non American owner. The statement is not dumb and the example is clear by what the Glaziers did with Man U.

If you referr to the scene, confetis, fireworks and those sh!ts, we didn't do it with Ronnie. We presented him like we always present our players in front of our fans. They salute them and make something with the ball and make some photos .

Milan presented Ronnie last year much more imaginative then Madrid did with Ronaldo :D

Look:

and another example:

And Milan presented Ronnie:

(see 2:00 :D)

btw Yaya can't juggle with the ball :D

Absolutely do it...parade them! Glen Johnson(apparently we signed him!....why?) and Albert Riera would have drawn a full house.

I think it´s not always the same... some American owners only put blubs in debts, just look at Liverpool!

Players that I would like to see in Camp Nou next season:

1. Ribery
2. Villa
3. Cesc
4. Luis Felipe

1. Won't Go
2. Won't Go
3. Won't Go
4. No Idea who he is.

Players I want to see other clubs parade next season
1. Silvestr...Tweety!
2.Eboue
3.Senderos

Players I want my club to parade
1. Melo (his presentation will look like Jesus's second coming...or the most similar thing)
2. Melo
3. Melo
4. Melo (maybe if I write his name so much my team will get him)

On Topic: I think parading of players should only be done for "big name" players. When Arsenal and United sign players it's usually a photo shoot.Milan signed Flamini last season and it wasn't really a big deal, same with Hleb.

Jaboldinho

But on the other hand, that can make some players feel unappriciated, whilst making the egos of the stars grow even bigger.
