PES 2008: Is there a "player runs" button?

Hi

I got PES 2008 for the 360 after been a FIFA fan for many years but I decided to try this time with the Konami title.

One of the must important and used functions on the FIFA universe is the "player run" button that you can use to send your teammate on a run whenever you like and then throw him a deep pass. This is great for breaking tight defenses. Is there a way to do this on PES 2008?

I have FIFA 08 for the PSP and the "player run" function is there.

I don't think there is. I think that's probably the ONLY thing i ever actually miss from FIFA.

Yes there is. to do this press the RT button immediately after passing the ball to instruct the player to make a forward run. this is the default setting for the game if you change your setting you figure it out this is for the xbox 360. PE3 it would be the R2 button

^yeah...But its not exaclty like FIFA....in FIFA, one can order another player ( who doesnt receive the ball in the move) to go for a run and the player in possession passess the ball to him.

While in PES, one has to pass the ball to other player (in the same team ofcourse) and before it reaches to him, press R2 and the player who passed makes a forward run...You can also do a 1-2 pass by holding L1 + passing it and pressing a long pass/through pass/short pass button before the ball reaches your fellow team player.

It's a pity that this function is not present on PES 2008. This is very handy to disguise your attack as you can send a team mate on a run and as your opponent tries to mark him you pass the ball to another team mate.

I am wondering if FIFA 08 has the "player run" function. I know it exist on the PSP but have not found it on the different control guides I have found on the net about the PC/console version on FIFA 08.

I often disguise my attacks by starting a 1-2 pass, and drag defenders away but not passing it back to the original player but to someone else that has opened up space.
