PES^6 vs FIFA 2007

LOL noob PES 6 is far better than FIFA...

Elkjaer, "noob" is a nerd word! Which makes you....a nerd! Now on to this FIFA vs. PES thing. Fifa 2007 360 has lots of improving to do. It is a very unfinished and unpolished game. The only thing it has going for it is that it is a great engine and base to build on. If the Fifa team really worked hard at 2008 version and wanted to make the very best footy game out there, they can do it! Easily. Winning Eleven 9 is my favorite footy game of all time but the 360 PES is abysmal, it doesn't belong on a next gen console like th e360. It's a smack in the face to next gen. at the moment, none of them are doing it for me! Both need to get there act together. I wish 2K sports made footy games, they'd blow both out of the water! Look at the job they do with NBA 2K6, NHL, old NFL 2K's, etc. Maybe that's what we need! A new company making refreshing, revolutionary footy games.

PES 5 however...perfect. the best football game ever. trust me.

if Konami go back to PES5 gameplay (and editing, ect for xbox360), and PES6 graphics then u got a real winner.

i do like the FIFA career mode tho. of a 3rd party wants to combine the two, i;d be all for it.

But for now i'll continue to be frustrated by Ruud not being able to shoot at an open goal, Henry not being able to out pace anyone and defenses that are either rock-solid (the CPU's) or easier to spread than herpes at an orgy.

The only thing right about Fifa is its career mode. Simple and fun.

But the game is unplayable. Bash PES/WE for all you want, but fifa will always remain unplayable. The fancy menus, sounds and team names won't make up for anything.

I strongly disagree. #1, all away games are in the same stadium. #2, Either all night games or all day games (depends on what setting you last played on in Kick off mode). #3, No trophy celebrations! (absolutely disgusting, especially considering that this is aa "nextgen" game!) One season was enough for me. There is no incentive to continue. I remember someone complaining that they wanted 50 + seasons for manager mode =

I love the animations on Fifa 07 along with the graphics. But there is absolutely no defense what so ever in this game...the one thing I do like is that players will do their best to block the shot, other than that...defense really doesn't exist.

When I'm on defense and I press X on the Xbox controller to call for a 2nd defender to pressure the guy with the ball, he jogs over to it and at times takes for ever. Completely unacceptable.

I love the features they have in Fifa alot.

PES is still more realistic but Fifa is a fun game also, and I think Fifa really might pass PES in 08 if Konami doesn't improve on their graphics, animations and add in extra features.

Some people say that Fifa is horrible but I think the potential for this game is great.

Just hope Konami strives to do better, adding more things in...the more compeition the better, don't need this to turn into the NFL where EA buys out every thing and then the product goes down, with PES and FIFA we can look foward to a better soccer gaming experience.

PES needs an AUDIO overhaul! Big time! The Audio is like 1983 all over again! Also polish up the presentation,, make it look more professional and cool. Will EA surprise anyone with Fifa 2008??? That's the big test. The ability is there to put out the best footy game, but will they? Actually, it's starting to get to the point where you might ask yourself, Do they want to put out the best game??? EA has become a lame company. The bigger they get, the worse off they are. Just look at the trash they've put out lately as sports titles! Fifa World Cup 2004, NBA Live!!! NBA 2K stomped all over that trash game! I wish 2K games had the Fifa liscense, that would solve all our problems.

I guess the gameplay is about the same, it looks like some prefer FIFA07 and some prefer PES.

As for PES, I tried PES 5 but I was dissapointed with how my gamepad worked with it. Every time I pushed button 1, the game paused and since I'm used to have that button as "pass" or "shoot" on almost every game I've played, I almost freaked out. And there was no way to change that so I quit PES after that. Is that little problem solved in PES 6? In that cas I might give it a try, if the game is easier to edit that the FIFA games. I like up to date teams and kits, you know!

No real editing on Fifa= PES, I heard they cut out the editing on 360 version = Lets all write to 2K games to see what the hell they need to make a great football game. One that plays and looks great! With next gen hardware, the 2 are amust!

umm does overshooting the goal WAY high in pes6 seem realistic and you can do other things with the rabona rather than shoot.

Fifa is more fun, but I find PES to be more realistic. As I've said, there is really no defense in FIFA. Kind of like their NBA Live series, which I havn't played for a long time but that was basically a dunk show.

Konami does need to improve on every aspect of the game. I switched between PES and Fifa last night and FIFA's graphics, animations are far better than PES.

The way they pass the ball in FIFA is also nice, if you have you're back turned to your teammate and you pass it, it'll be off and much slower going to that player.

Another thing I think FIFA does better is shooting, not sure why but it feels more realistic to me and I have better control over where my shots are going.

I enjoy both of them, when I want a fun game...I go with FIFA and their game is starting to get more realistic now, but for now PES still shows the sport for what it is.

defense in fifa is laughable. In PES you get players scrambling out of the box to block the shot ala Nicky Butt Paul Scholes Gattuso in Fifa they just stand there looking. The doubling up in Fifa is pants compared to PES. In PES you have a better pressing system. Good players stand out from average players. In Fifa 07 i saw a centre back dribbling with precision. WHats that about?? I'm not talking about analog skills just plain changing directions. IN PES you cant dribble as fluently with most centre backs as there control isnt that good. In Fifa i was shooting from 40 yards and troubling the goal keeper today. My bro scored a 35 yard screamer suprise suprise. He does it all the time. He used Atletico Madrid to beat Liverpool 8-2 on world class. HEs says hes good i say the game is pants. Most of his goals went in off the keepers hands.

I also just stopped playing it because the players require so much time to get anything done properly. PES has the more natural feel to it. one touch play although passing accuracy could be much better. Fifa is a bit unreal and the movement of the ball is good but not good enough. Its too quick to come down like theres a magnet under the pitch.

Three months ago I was playing Fifa like a maniac, but a friend gave me his PES6 (PC), and I was shock by its gameplay, I knew there was a difference, but not that much!!
Now I'm playing PES6 like a maniac, but sometimes I miss the manager mode, a youth academy, REAL Money, with sponsors, and tickets, I got to say that I like the Master League but the manager mode was simply amazing.


Waiting for FIFA08 or/& PES7

Sorry but Fifa 07 (Xbox 360 version) has the physics, hands down. Pay close attention to player movement. The reason why people say that PES has better gameplay is cause you can do more than in Fifa 360, but it's unrealistic. For example, in Fifa 360 if you kick while off balance, you will not aim straight most of the time & when you receive a ball, it's trapped more realitically and takes longer to get rid of because that's the way it is in real life. PES is too fluid, it allows you to do anything. It's the reason why people like it more but if you ever play real football you'll know that Fifa (360) is more realistic. Also, PES players look like they are marching robots as oppose to Fifa running. Fifa is more organic for sure. Also, audio and graphics on the PES for the 360 is as laughable as it is for last gen. Fanboyism blinds.

I have to agree.

PES is so overrated these days... it was without question the best for years, but then again, FIFA was complete crap for all those years. But FIFA has evolved and finally produced a good game engine to build on, PES is still trying to get away with what made them great in 2003.

I finally went back and played a few Winning Eleven 9 games the other day (after getting into FIFA07, PS2 version) and I was shocked at just how robotic everything was.. the movement, the passing felt dated, shooting wasn't as great as I used to think, the animations didn't seem so special anymore, and even the gameplay itself didn't feel as realistic as I used to preach about.

Fanboyism blinds indeed.. I used to bash EA as much as anyone because they deserved it, but they've finally put together some real positives in terms of gameplay, gotta give credit where it's due. I literally have a stack of PES/WE games sitting on the shelf, they just don't cut it anymore. Too bad because if PES had continued to improve it would have been incredible today, now it just feels way too retro for my liking.

Fifa was complete krap for years but 360 version is truly built on a next gen engine! Physics, physics, physics driven engine. Player movement, lighting, audio are superb! Gameplay isn't bad either. Really, with tweeking, it'd be a very good gameplay for 2008. I am absolutely sure that Fifa 2008 or more likely, 2009 will be he king! What happened Konami? Read this review below and ask yourself if it belongs on the 360!
