PES fans, FIFA 08 is eating you up!

Can't say since I haven't played xbox version, but Winning eleven at the Tokyo show, for PS3 was a pretty good game.

MGS4 is better than anything I've seen to date, so that would indicate that PS3 is capable of better stuff than xbox. We;ll never know whether Konami could have done the exact same game on the xbox, since it's exclusive to PS3

I guess, we'll have to wait and see when all this comes out. But from my experience Winning eleven on PS3 will be a pretty good game.

Lets see. Last year Gears of War took game of the year honors, this year Bioshock is in the lead for goty and is totally owning any game out there, big time. It is a masterpiece. and not to mention, my other 2 hunches for goty awards are Halo3 and Mass Effect. Add to that the bigger game library, most exclusives, a second to none online service, GTA4 exclusive DL content, future Splinter Cell exclusives, all EA sports games running at 60 fps instead of 30 (PS3), then the next gears of war2, Bioshock2, Condemned:Bloodshot, Alan Wake, etc, etc.....the PS3 has LOTS of catch up to do. Up to date, the PS3 is still a promise. and if you compare specs, the Xenon GPU in the 360 is superior. Developers have hard time with PS3 (more suitable for number crunching than rendering textures, etc. and it's evident.) Go to gamespot, gamepro and look up the graphics comparisons. But, hey at least you can watch bluray movies on the PS3(:/)

PS2 was still outselling xbox360 by 50% this past spring, and probably still is outselling it , so it's MS that needs to catch up, not Sony.

PS3 is still young, Metal Gear Solid will change things, then you have Final Fantasy and other exclusives. PS3 has a future, xbox360 is already as good as it will ever be. There is no upward potential there. It's old news, that never even cought up to PS2 or Wii.

Despite a 12 month head start by xbox360, Wii, just passed xbox360 on totals sold. This despite xbox360 recently getting some of its most anticipated titles out.
PS2 of course is still #1 console. Totals of PS2 and PS3 every month outsell whatever Msoft is selling by a wide margin.

That is the reality. xbox360 is a sinking ship. PS3 may sink, but it's only 10 months old. At least there is much that can be improved. As you say. PS3 is still a promise, true, but that's a lot more than xbox360, which is what you see is what you get, now and 3 years from now. I'd rather go with a console that is considered a promise, yet already looks and plays every bit as good as the xbox360 ( in case of MGS4, it actually surpasses it )

But, hey at least you can watch bluray movies on the PS3

At least Sony didn't make us buy the same console twice, just so we can be up to date technology wise.

I did look at the graphics, and I don't see any advantage to xbox360. I see titles that look more or less the same, because most developers aren't very skilled at coding. When games by those who know how to code properly start coming out for PS3, the advantage will be obvious.

Just like in Soccer, many players, but not many Peles, Zidanes or Maradonas.
Developers who say PS3 is too difficult to code for, are like soccer players who can't score and use excuses to cover their asses.
EA are well known for shoddy coding and game design. For every thing they do get right, they get 11 wrong. They are like Britney Spears of the gaming world. They sell, but most of it is ( fill in the blanks )

Winning Eleven is a very good game, Metal Gear solid will be in a class of its own, in every way. Whethr Fifa08 or WE08 will be better, we'll see when they come out.

What a bummer. I was hoping PES be good as well. I hear you about it looking last gen. I remember DL'in the last PES demo on my 360 and thinking how much it does not belong on a next gen machine. Then I saw the way they "run" (like choppy robots), the menus, audio, etc were all horrid. Needless to say I erased it soon enough. Perhaps Konami needs a new PES dev team with fresh ideas and the will to make it a great next gen game. So far, EA is owning in sports titles this year (surprisingly)! NHL 08 is super excellent(better than NHL 2K8) NBA LIVE demo looks great and I much preferred it to NBA 2K8 demo (which is weird), Tiger Woods game looks bad ass and now this bad ass fifa simulator.
Fifa 08 is so simulation that its sick. It plays so realistic, its animations are outstanding, graphics are very next gen and audio will be excellent as usual. Can't wait for the full version. Now let me go play the demo for the 40th time

that statement right there shows you don't know anything about realism. NBA 2k8 is the closest so far a basketball game has gotten to the real live game.

You don't actually believe that, do you? How stupid would that be? People decide if the buy a game by playing the demo. Why should they release a "sub beta demo"? And how much of the important stuff can be fixed in four weeks (which include production and shipping!)?

Just wait until both games are out there and then we will see.

The demo's have always been differen't to the final code, this is why they demo them at game shows before they are finished, to get user feedback, which will push them to do last minute tweaking or leave in or take out certain features.

You have to realise these demo's will have to have been pre june/ july time for the shows, and being a programmer myself you can do a hell of alot of work in a couple of months.

I'm not bothered about the PS3 OR XBOX versions, the PC version is the only one that can be altered in a huge way. So just sit tight and we'll see.

I think you will find the pace of the game will be slowed down, and the animations people are going on about will be good in the pc ps3 versions.

If you watch the PS3 videos you can see this in evidence, it is better than the xbox.

Being a PC power user i'll be happy we'll have more textures to play with, and i'm sure some outstanding work will be produced from the community.

Actually I can back this claim up, a lot of game demo's and video footage say
"game footage may not reflect the final product". I think this little statement has been written THAT many times that most people just kinda realise it. So yeah there's a good chance the PES2008 demo will play different.

I'll still stick with FIFA cause I'm just liking the demo a lot, however in the past I have been an as$ and just been a 'dumb fan' and believed the crap EA told us all and got real angry when I found out the game sucked. but FIFA 08 is different.

PES2008 demo for me right now isn't my thing, although I can easily see why it would appeal to many, the only change I noticed is the reason it was loved by so many doesn't seem to be the gameplay Konami have dished out this year...quite a few upset fans of the franchise.

Anyway guys, football games are there for entertainment...not to battle over.
