To close the chapter on Kitserver 7, i decided to make one last release: it basically contains all the fixes/updates, minor improvements and features done since previous release:

Kitserver v7.4.2 "FINALE": bug-fix/small-features release
- bootserv: added "random.skip" configuration option to specify
the boots directory to be skipped when assigning boots randomly
- afs2fs: adding possibility to put "img" folder outside of kitserver
- kserv: fix for South Korea kits (specific to Konami patch 1.20)
- kserv: support for "description" attribute. (Also possible to turn it off)
- sched: it used to crash in some tournaments when
browsing match schedule. Shouldn't happen anymore.

Im just deleting the old folder of kitserver and copying the new one over. But for some reason when i go to setup in the new kitserver folder. It shows "installed" already. Little weird.

Everything is really cool but there is one little thing, you can close the kitserver chapter, but it wont be complete, the problem is: when im playing as administrator of windows the kitserver works but when im playing as a common administrator it doesnt work, and in pes6 wouldnt make any diference, so i think it would be easy to you to solve the problem juce, or not?? please dont disapoint me and see what you can do Juce!!!

please juce say something about this problem?!

i turned off the User account protection and it fixed the problem. It has something to do with playing with a nonadministrator account. It doesnt properly work until i disable UAP in Vista. Does afsio.dll has direct access to the harddrive ?

well, i guess it depends on the definition of "direct access to the harddrive". I must admit i know very little about Vista and its newest protection mechanisms, including UAP. Some people had said the problems with afsio.dll may be due to the fact it's dealing with files in kitserver\img folder, which itself is in C:\Program Files\... There's nothing super low-level in afsio.dll though: it's just mainly doing CreateFile and CloseHandle calls, nothing else related to disk access.

The latest afs2fs.dll has the feature, where you can move the "img" folder into a different place on disk - you can place it into the so-called "user area" - My Documents or what have you. To do that you need to add a "img.dir" option in your kitserver's config.txt file (see documentation for more details). So that's about the only thing i can suggest to try... unless you're ok with turning off the UAP.

i dont want to turning off the UAP, for security reasons.and the "img" folder thing didnt solved me the problem unfortunatly.
what i have is the windows XP, with a limited account which dont let me play with the kitserver, what i dont understand is why in pes6 this problem didnt exist, and in pes2008 you have. cant you see why and fix it, because in pes6 i had a big kitserver and i was always using this fantastic tool, and know i didnt played very much pes2008 cause i cant use the kitserver!

See what u can do Juce!!;););)

Roger007,
well, if you install PES into standard directory (Program Files\KONAMI\...), then you have to run the game as administrator (and install kitserver as administrator), otherwise it won't work.

if you only have a limited account, then one way to try is to install PES2008 onto desktop, instead of the standard location. This way, you don't have to use administrator account for installing kitserver (because you account will have the write-access to the game files) and also the game should work ok with kitserver.

...it didnt work.. put the kitserver as you said, you changed something in kitserver system from pes6 kitserver to pes2008 kitserver, because in pes6 i had the same limited acount system, the pes6 was installed in games partition as well as know, and all worked very well, and in pes2008 it doesnt, i think that for some reason this kitserver needs to use the C:\ partition and in pes6 didnt, my question is as the creator you know what you have done diferent from the pes6 kitserver to this one and maybe you can put it like pes6, i cant see other option, cause this limited acount is to pc security protection.
what can you do?

there are lots of things i've done differently in kitserver 7, compared to kitserver 6. There's no point really in discussing that, because i'm not going to change it, simple because it is hardly possible at this point.

did you re-install the whole game to desktop? sounded like you only moved the kitserver itself...
