damn it i wish it was on xbox live for the usa too.

what are your impressions of the game from the demo?

+:

+Game is smooth(not lagging like PES 6)
+You can put your CD's up in corners(or any1 you like to)
+Shooting is hard, but rewarding
+Goalies are quite good
+Players can collide like in reality
+Fast freekicks are taken nicely
+Top players look good(ie. Ronaldinho)
+CPU is getting some cards as well

-:

-Game is a bit too fast
-Because of that there isn't much of playing in the middfield, so it's mostly about defending your goal or attacking opponents all the time
-Sprint is too effective
-Seems like top players are a bit too good compared to "normal" players
-Graphics aren't too nice
-Other than top players(or those who have their own models) are looking quite bad
-It feels a bit too arcade for me because of those things I have mentioned above

It's good and enjoyable, but I don't like the direction they have been taking series. While adding some things which obviously are made for simulating real football, they have been mading too much "star cult" about top players. So Ronaldinho is fast like lightning, etc.

Completely agree. The game is WAY too fast and kinda ruins it in general. If they slowed it down it would be great.

Man, okay this took like 3 hours to d/l (whats with that?). And geez, this isnt good!

I'm a major PES fan (who also gets FIFA every year to see if they can match up...they never can!) but this year, what have they done to PES?! Its way too fast, it feels and looks like an arcade game. You put on the fifa demo, you get fully licensed kits, teams, players and for once, a game paced pretty damn well AND fun to play! FIFA's never been fun for me because its so arcadey compared to PES, doesnt have the same level of depth, but I'm worrying this time round. This feels pretty shoddy and as pointed out, there's just no midfield play. There's no need for it, it's like pinball!

Guys, i don't get it, how is it like crap?

Did the make the gameplay faster? How so, on the vids it looked pretty normal to me...

Oh man, I've been anticipating this game for so long, I don't want it to be crap!!!! Konami, you can't let EA beat you!!!!

Yeah, they made it too fast. And mostly there isn't middfieldplaying/middfielddefending, etc. You just pass couple of times wide and sprint right trough middfield all the time.

You gotta remember it is a Demo .. I remember playing PES6 demo and was like .. "PES5 Is Waaay Better Than This" and now I am just amazed with PES6 and never get bored .. it is completely different to the Demo .. What ever you do don't bring yourself down in disappointment .. it is a Demo and Demos are just are fraction of the real game itself.

I really thought Konami would get it right this year but if the demo is anything to go on they've taken one step forward and two backwards.

It's just too damn fast. Slow it down a bit and they might have a game on their hands. At this late stage i can't see that happening though.

I hear that so often and I can't believe it. Why do you care if Konami or EA produce the best football game? Just play the better game. You don't have to be faithful to a brand.

Another thing I don't get is this "The demo sucks but the final release will be much better so I buy it anyway." How can you spend so much money if you didn't like the demo (which will be, apart from some details, be the very same game)?

Biebrich, the PES5 demo was very different from the final game and somebody else in here said the same thing about PES6. So why shouldn't that be the coincidence this year?

i understand that. but computer games are expensive. i will play the pes2008 demo as soon as it comes out, and i have to decide if i buy the game using my experience in playing the demo. i don't want to buy a game because i hope it's not as crappy as its demo.

If the main things wrong with the new game are 'its a bit fast' and 'non-star players don't look great', then it looks like Konami are simply being lazy and relying - as in previous years - on fan editors to get the game up to scratch. The pes6 i'm playing now is totally different to the pes6 that sits in a box on my shelf. It looks great, sounds great, and plays at just the right speed.

Everything in the '+' bit of Jore2's post is stuff that I really notice is missing in pes6, so I'm glad it's there. Everything in the '-' bit can be fixed by the amazing team of editors.

Not that I'm saying this is a good thing or anything, but a demo of a pes game can never, ever be anywhere close to how the real game will play. It just gives us a chance to see what foundations the game we'll end up playing will be built on. Konami release the bare bones, other people who care more make it the game it should be, so there's no need to panic.

Much respect to anyone who edits the game, by the way !

I totally agree when it comes to PC version. But for XBOX 360(or other console versions) it's different story. Right now I would buy just FIFA for 360, but surely for PC PES will be only choise.
