PES3 PC - diagonal pass bug??

Whenever I try to long pass the ball in the demo or the full version it goes the opposite direction. eg I want to hit it diagonally down-forward, it will fly backwards toward my own half.

This is a major problem for me. I ma using the play.com usb adaptor and apart from this flaw I have got it working fine the rest of the time.

Anyone else get this? Anyone know a solution?

You certainly must be doing something wrong, maybe pressing the diagnol buttons the wrong way (even at the last minute) because it's defenitely not a bug.
Are you experiencing this using normal pass or manual pass?

i get the same thing, like my player automatically passes back, like the player is trying to switch the play to the far centerback or something

why god why!!!

Sounds like your button configuration might be set up wrong, did you try checkin that?

happened to me in the demo, doesnt seem to be there in full game though although ive only played for 10 mins or so on full one

Yup, same thing for me.

The buttons work great in every other situation except for crossings, but not everytime. It's like the cpu thinks you want to pass the defender even when you're aiming forward. But this happens only in some situations, so it's not button config problems.

It seems to be getting directions confused when you press two at once maybe. Can anyone confirm if it does it with keyboard too?

Maybe it is a compability problem with the usb PS2 lead.

It's a big problem if it can't be fixed though. You basically can't play beckham style long balls from long wing to the other, you can only do them straight up or straight down.

L1 and long ball will always do a long ball to your strikers, so it can be used from the wings when not level with the penalty area. I find this method covers about 90% of the times when I want to do a long ball forwards when it would otherwise pass backwards.

Yep, I have the same problem and it's not hardware related. I think you will get this when you try to pass using the "bad" leg of your player. I was playing with Becks and dribbled the defender so he was facing his field. He was approximately in the box line, glued to the right wing. Tried to make a cross with his left foot, but instead of that he passed to Campbell, who was alone in mid-field. And most of the times there's an annoying attacker that will cut the pass and make a counter.

It happens frequently. I guess the solution is try to make the pass with the "good" foot..

i also get it as lot where i change direction, from forward to right for example, but instead of just turning it does a spin, like i was 360degree rotating the pad, when im not, so often lose the ball for almost no reason just because i try to turn and it does the big spin:/

is that the pad too?

i get that too when i try to launch a through chip and the ball ends up on my goalie's feet instead

Let's get this stright - it's not meant to happen. It has nothing to do with wrong feet, the game is confusing one direction press with the opposite.

We have to work out how to stop it doing it

check the button config.
not the one when you set left,right,up,down, etc.
but the one after that, where you can change the long pass type.
there are 5 types of long pass, and each has their own explanations there.

yeah i know the bit you mean but thats bollocks, you can still do normal high passes on the ps2 version without having to alter that, its a bug...

Keano is right, L1 and long pass is a different move. If there is a player just down-forward from me but with a defender in between i can't now gently knock it over him to my man because it will go the opposite direction. This isn't a move, this isn't the wrong foot, this is a bug.

I have played the PS2 version of PES3 and WE7 for months and I perform a forward long pass many teams every single game, it's not rocket science, it won't let me do it. I don't need to whack it into the opposition penalty box everytime i want to play the ball in the air.

Yeah i get this too with keyboard. Really frustrating and I have a feeling that it'll be in the full game too. For me, the player doesn't just hit it poorly, he turns around and normally hits it in a completely different direction.
