I'm posting here as no one has registered to the site's forum yet.
Personnaly I think that groups are really interesting and I believe that we're gonna watch some great matches.;) The fact that different seeds were used to make the draw, proves that there's a balance and an absolute equity. After all this is a competition where not only team skills are important, but personal too;)

@rob--- will we have the fixtures tonight or have to wait till tomorrow?

@Andreas (Germany)
@Leo Bahouth (Rep. of Ireland)
@Hadjir (Senegal)
I'll add you to my MSN list so as we fix the dates of the matches as soon as we have the fixtures schedule.

I'd like to know if there are any people who are interested in playing some friendly matches against players from the other groups (same group has no meaning), before the official matches.

Hi guys.

The groups have been drawn, you have probably all seen them yet if you havnt then check the standings page on the website for a full breakdown of the groups. The fixture list will be up on the website soon and will give you all details of when your fixtures are to be played and also who your playing.

Please remember it is your responsibility to get in touch with your opponents and to arrange when your matches are to be played. I would all encourage you to add your group members atleast and possibly players from other groups also, to your msn contact lists. This will make communication a lot easier.

You have 3 days from the date of the fixture to play the match and report that result. If the fixture is not played in that time period then a 0-0 scoreline will be registered. Also like the real world cup, not all groups will play on the same day.

For Example

Wednesday

Group A has 3 days to play there 1st fixture
Group B has 3 days to play there 1st fixture

Thursday

Group C has 3 days to play there 1st fixture
Group D has 3 days to play there 1st fixture

Friday

Group E has 3 days to play there 1st fixture
Group F has 3 days to play there 1st fixture

Saturday

Group G has 3 days to play there 1st fixture
Group H has 3 days to play there 1st fixture

Group A match results need to be submitted by the end of today
Group B match results need to be submitted by the end of today

Sunday

Group A has 3 days to play there 2nd fixture
Group B has 3 days to play there 2nd fixture

Group C match results need to be submitted by the end of today
Group D match results need to be submitted by the end of today

Monday

Group C has 3 days to play there 2nd fixture
Group D has 3 days to play there 2nd fixture

Group E match results need to be submitted by the end of today
Group F match results need to be submitted by the end of today

And so forth...

Please remember these are not the official fixture dates so please do not play and/or submit any matches until the fixture list is confirmed on the website. These will be published sometime over the weekend so you will be able to see who is playing who and when, and also see submission dates for match results. It will all make sense once its laid out on the website i promise!

With regards to hosting, i will leave that upto you. It is between you and your opponents to decide who hosts the match, but i will remind you that the player with the faster internet connection will provide less lag for the client so bear that in mind when deciding.

There is a seperate forum for each world cup group on the website and you can use that to report your results and to arrange matches etc.. Both players need to report the result of a game, in the following format...

Example

World Cup Group F

Date 00/00/00

SPAIN 1
Raul

ITALY 2
Vieri
Camoranesi

Manager Comments:

You get the picture!

Both managers need to report each result, to avoid dispute. This must be done via the forum on the website. Please ensure you use the correct forum for this. Eg, to report Group A results, please do so in the Group A forum. It makes sense!

Good Luck!

Rob

I don't agree there. The Upload speed only plays some part.
More important is the ping-time.
I prefer that the fixture list should determine who hosts
the match.
So if it's Argentina v Belgium, then let Argentina host it.

I'm also a bit unsure about the hosting/clienting system. The one who hosts has a BIG advantage. Let's say a member has a very good line, that means he gets to host all his matches in the WC.

In my opinion, we should have a Clanbase system (two matches, one each as host, then add the scores together).

I know there are a few members here who can't host, but overall I think this is a more fair system.

I really dont think thats possible because some people cannot host games. We will do that for the next tournament and say that if you are to enter you have to be able to host AND client games, but at the moment we will stick with the system we have.

Besides i am only able to client and it has never affected me when i have played online. As long as you turn off other things that use your bandwidth like msn etc... it is not too much of a problem.

i registered, but can't login to the site.
when are we going to start this?

it better be soon, otherwise people will forget about it in no time.

btw, are the majority of players in europe ?
bcos' some of us are in the US/Canada and it will lag for all of us.

now you will be able to login;) If it still doesn't work, just copy and paste the link into your browser.

Shall we play a friendly match so as to check if there's any lag? (I'm in Europe)

And yes the tournement should begin shortly. We can't wait anymore:D :p

then it'll b unfair for the client guy ?!
n i think benefits of 2 ppl is greater than 1 person (the 3rd guy)
what i meant is if 2 person can host ..let's play 2 matches , n if the 3rd guy cant host , i'll play 1 match with him only.

I think that's a good idea, of course, after taking in consideration who can host or not. After all if we see that there's an important lag during the game (and that can be easily seen at the beginning), host should change (and that will be reported at the forum). And a last thing, the seeds used for the draw have to be taken in consideration so as to "benefit" the less powerful teams. example: Iran vs France, Iran should host if the internet connexion allows it.

I think that, overall, the CB system (explained in my post above) is a much more fair system than the one we have got now.

The system we have now means that one guy probably will host all his games, just because he has the better internet connection.

I think that, for the few people who can't host, another solution could be organized. For example, they could play with all yellow arrows, and the host with all blue arrows (or something like that).

Anyone agree?
