Can somebody compare it to WE9 PS2? Cause its the game most of us here have played...

Thnx

Its different. In what way i'm not sure, dunno if its just cause its on pc so handles it better. It seems faster, and a little easier as in there is less frustration, but its still hard to score and you get tackled alot. People who have gone straight from Pes 4 to Pes 5 won't see what all the fuss about the complete difference in gameplay WE9 is. It seems like the winnign eleven series is almost now like a slightly seperate series to pro evo.

Tried the demo also and here's some of my opinions about the new pes. I played about 10 games (one 5-minute half) and first of all i'm glad to see that i was wrong about the game speed and you (slackker & Sime0n) were right. It's slower than pes4 and i think the speed is good.

The game feels smooth and the graphics are excellent. It's also true that this time the game really is more difficult and it's much harder to win balls. I think it's only a good thing cause now you really need to focus on passing so that you wouldn't lose ball so cheaply and you get even more satisfaction when you manage to score a goal (scored only 3 goals so far). However i didn't notice those shoulder-to-shoulder fouls that many have been complaining about. Actually i almost didn't commit fouls at all (no single yellow card). I think the best way to win the ball is trying to cut off your opponents passes since i find the sliding tackles little too slow. Player movements are also pretty good. Though still a little too much outside of foot passes to be completely realistic but improved from pes4. Some other animations also look weird when you're passing the ball but otherwise no complains.

What i dislike the most in this game are the goalkeepers. Unfortunately they look as stupid as in pes4. Everytime my shot has gone wide, they haven't even tried to save it. I quess this doesn't really affect on gameplay but it still looks stupid. It's strange that Konami haven't fix it...

I can't say much about long shots since i really haven't had space to try them but overall this is a good game (except the GKs :nape: ) and i think i can finally leave WE7I behind me...

My main problem with PES5 (as well as PES4) is the movement of the players.NOT the animations, the whole movement just seems so unnatural when you control the player. They are moving like robots and not humans. This might be cause of the speed of the game but truly have you watched a real match???I'm willing to try PES3 again and see if it's just my imagination but i doubt as i was playing some days ago a version of We Do It.The thing that i didn't like in Fifa was the robotic movement and the scripted events. The PES/WE series didn't have ANY of these things and now they have this robotic movement. If i have good framerate while recording a video with FRAPS i will upload it to show you what i mean exactly.A total new game from PES4???No way.A tweaked version??Exactly. So if you didn't like PES4 and liked the previous versions like PES3,you won't like PES5.

The demo is much better than I thought it will be. As SlowSilver said, the shooting is a lot better, for example in PES4 you could shoot from 40 meters or so and get a nice goal but from the box you were sending rockets completely nowhere near the goal. Anyway, gameplay is better, so are graphics. I don't really know about the sound but we'll find out. Looking forward to get the full version.

lol some of you guys say the same thing every year...too fast, too slow, more open, better AI, worse AI...

everyone has to play it for themselves. :)

It`s funny when you read these impressions as some of us got bored of WE9 already..so it all sounds like old news.

i actually like the game so far. i think it is a bit harder to score which is good and bad. i scored a nice free kick with beckham though which was tight. i like how on set plays the players make runs instead of standing in one place. i scored a great goal with robben on a free kick play. i had two men over the ball and i faked the shoot with the second man over tha ball and lampard the primary shooter passed it through to robben who had lost ashley in the crowd of players by making a diagonal run and he hit it one time into the top right corner.

Starting XI
Beckham and Roberto Carlos' animations are identical to the real life's. I love how Roberto make passes with his chest. :)

Now long shots come in more often... if you manage to get a decent shot position, which is harder.

So far I love it compared to PES4. The new tackle/foul system is the biggest step PES has taken in years. I can see why some people don't like it. It actually takes skill and timing to tackle properly now. No more just running up from anywhere and slamming X button every time. It's great how you can walk up to them and your player will perform the correct animation if you are lined up properly (not trying to steal from behind or running too fast and crashing into them). Much closer to real life now in this area.
There also seems to be less stupid little bumbles that result in posession lost. You lose the ball more from bad passing and interception, like real life.

Finally there seems to be better movement off the ball by your players. They do a much better job of moving forward and filling open spots and pressing the attack. It's also much easier to grab the nearest player when there is a loose ball and pick it up. Before the players are always running away from free balls. :nape:

The passing in the back again plays stupid, dangerous, slow balls like PES3 did. WE9I will probably be the best version again since they usually fix this by then.

The animations are soo awesome. Almost everything is more realistic looking to me. The AI with Raul busted out some cool move that I sat and watched the replay for about 5 mins lol.

Game speed seems to be slightly faster than PES3 but keep in mind we are playing with the some of the best players inthe demo. A slow ass ML starter team will be different. I was able to make a run up the whole field with Toure without the AI doing some fake turbo crap to catch me. Was happy to see that.

one thing i just noticed, you can change the kits, i mean like away shirt with home shorts and stuff like that, thats awesome and realistic because some teams do that in real life.

You know...........i want to simply share these 2 videos with you.To show you that indeed PES5 sucks whether you are fanboys or not.Just go here : http://www.trance.gr/~john2/

Download these 2 videos of PES5 demo and........enjoy.
In the first one i'm passing and i'm pressing the left arrow to the new player. Now see how he reacts,he is even sliding.OMFG.That's the robotic movement of the game and it's there, whether you want to praise Konami or not.So now i want to ask all those reviewers, what's so special about PES5???Oh it's only the demo,oh well.Let's wait for 4-5 months and we'll see all the posts saying that PES5 sucks. The history is repeating itself.
In the second video you can admire the great goalkeepers of PES5.Simply no comments. In times like these..............Fifa seems WAYYYYYYY better,ROFL :D.

So there you have them. Two replays of the same match that show how sh!t this game really is.Now i know that the goalkeepers suck and in the previous installments of PES,but that robotic movement wasn't there. So is it PES5 any good??No it isn't,it's a hybrid of arcade and simulation with major bugs.So what did exactly Konami deliver??I guess nothing to be honest. So if you still enjoy this game be my guest.BUT PES5 has lost it's way.Konami have lost their way..............this is indeed a sad day for the fans of WE/PES series.

The game is great! The player movement is much better now and I like the graphics as well, much better than Fifas shiny looking players.
But what the hell is up with freekicks beeing called all the time? I hate it!
The only thing that's better in Fifa is the dribbling. You can't do any nice tricks in this game.

What's the point of a game when you can't control the player you have??You may haven't noticed that robotic movement.Just do yourself a favour and download first the videos :) .Also i still believe that Winning Eleven 6-7 and PES3 were better than PES4 & 5 and any Fifa.

Well i must say , on first impressions brilliant. The graphics seem to be even better than pro 4. I have only played about 4 or 5 games on the demo, the first thing i noticed though was that the ball seemed as though it was heavier than normal, which made the shots even better. Also the gameplay seemed a little slower than pro 4 which again in my opinion made it more realistic. All in all it looks like it's going to be another winner for konami.
I have got the demotrainer installed also but i am unsure how to activate it, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pes really does rule the roost :rockman: :rockman:
