PES6:Kitserver & Smoothness of gameplay

kitserver adds more work for CPU, GPU, and operating system (memory management, for example) - there's no question about it. On some computers it is more noticeable than on others. It's not always a question of faster CPU or more RAM or newer videocard.

As correctly mentioned earlier, there's lots of factors here: bigger textures (HD kits/balls), LOD modification, crowd fix, aspect ratio correction for widescreens - all of this affects the game engine. There's no way to completely avoid that.

We (kitserver dev.team) make every effort to minimize this effect, but we don't always succeed. That said, it would be helpful, if people who can see the diffference clearly, did some investigation, for example trying to isolate exactly which kitserver module has the most adverse effect on performance. (A fair amount of work is done by kload.dll, so be sure to test the case when everything is disabled in the kload.cfg.)

Overall, this is a useful discussion, and hopefully we can improve the performance, and get back to that "smoothness" of unmodified gameplay.
Please, report your own investigation in this thread.

well , my pes was running fine , then had loads of different versions of kitserver and eveything was fine , but then recently my game has started to jjst lose some of it's smoothness , it's really annoying just the slightest bit of slowdonw , and even when removing kitserver it still does it

in my case lodmixer everything on 1 really made my computer sweat. But i know you need a beast to run that on max settings. I just think lodmixer is a graphics memory hogg and needs a little more work because i didnt notice too much of a difference on max to medium settings.

My comp:

p4 3.0mghz prescott 560
1.5gb DDR2 4300
Ati x1900xtx 512 1.6ghz memory clock
160gb seagate hdd
600watt XG PSU

if i can play Prey, FEAR, Scarface on maximum setting i should be able to play PES6 as well because PES6 is visually not advanced at all. For your information i play it on 1600x1200 settings and i have alot of HD kits texture size 2048x1024

I run PES6 on a widescreen laptop with Intel Pentium M 1,7 Ghz, 1GB RAM and an ATI Mobility x700. Playing the game widescreen in maximum detail (lodmixer) caused a lot of stuttering for me, so now I have most settings on medium detail. Framerate is acceptable now.

Juce talked about the smoothness of gameplay (with a constant 60 fps framerate) not about the "stuttering" phenomenon.
Infact, "stuttering" is the final and worse evolution of a progressive lack of smoothness that comes with the lack of framerate.

Then you have me confused: what is it exactly that you mean with 'the smoothness of gameplay'? Perhaps you can give me a simple example? All I did was describe the perfomance issues I had with PES6 and the new Kitserver.

Are you sure it has something to do with the version of kitserver we are using? Could the amount of files in GDB also play its part?

ive got two pcs and theyre more than just fine to play pes at rocksteady 60fps at max available resolution (with or without kitserver installed, with or without HD kits or some other "heavy" components like stadiums etc.).
gameplay just feels different.
when i play with smooth pes, pace is great, the way the attack create feels in sync with my will.
"modded" pes feels differently: gameplay looks accelerated by 5-10%.
but what actually is noticeable is the way the game gets my button pressings, my orders.
ive got difficulties in get what i really "meant" with my button pressings.
another example : i find difficult to shoot filling just a bit of the bar (a ground shoot) and many of my shoots (after passing the keeper) end out of the stadium.
ok, i know ill never be somekinda PesChampion, but im not so noob or afraid near the posts.
all these problems seldomly occurs in smooth pes.

ive tried some alternative configurations in these days :
looks like disabling all the .dll beside the "kits" one AND/OR lowering resolution can help finding a better and closer gameplay to smooth one; its not the same, tho.

just for the records, my specs are :
Dell Inspiron 9400 : Core2duo 2ghz, ram@667, gef7900gs@420gpu*1200dac at res 1440*900.
I dont think that could be actually a low spec pc for a "gamey" like Pes (in complexity terms, of course).

I removed kitserver and played a game, and immediately noticed a huge difference in smoothness, response, and overall excitment.

But of course without all the great kits, stadiums, and boots, the game would look terrible.

So here's the question: Is there a complete and thorough ASF map for the 0_text file?

I'd like to manually replace all kitserver kits and stadiums into the ASF files. It will take days, but will be definetly worth it.

I just need to know how.

I now have Valmir's v5 boot folder for kitserver and the boots are awesome, however now whenever me or player 2 get near the goal it jerks loads. Fine without boots, not as smooth with just the faces+hairs and the stadiums but the botts have made a dramatic difference.

This is my list of the most "heavy" parts of kitserver:
1) faceserver (when you have many faces and hairs you have to choose to activate only some faces/hairs, not avery face/hair in the map.txt)
2) bootserver (the same as the faceserver)
3) ballserver (same as faceserver and ballserver)
4) stadium server (same)
5) kitserver (same)

by the way i would recomend getting rid of face server as it is not worth the bother unless someone has gone to a lot of trouble.
never tried it with new card but with 7300gs 512mb some players had bold heads etc. weird so got rid.

vista ultimate base score 5.0 , i can now play pes6 on max settings using kitserver . looks and feels amazing. 360 version does nt touch it .

cant wait to see ps3 version. it would take a lot to convert me from pc though. dcfc

if your card or set up struggles lose the face and hair packs. waste of resources.
