Hello, I wanted to ask if someone has already figured out how fast players will reach their potential at what age.
I have noticed that the older the players are, the less OVR points they gain. Young players on the other hand get quite a few points.
I played my first career season in the game at Semi Pro to test out how the players' OVR rise when constantly winning by a high goal difference (thus maintaining a high form). My young players who were around 20 and below and played a few games quickly gained +5 or even +6 on their OVR after the first half of the season (starting at around 60-65). Early and Mid 20's players who play often got around +4 or +3 after the first half (starting at around 70-75). Late 20's players got +1 or +2 at most. Players around 30 who did have a higher potential than their OVR gained nothing despite playing often and having a high form.
I also noticed that +6 seems to be the most a player can get in one season. After my young players got their +5/6 boost already after the first half of the season, they did not improve any further. However, right at the start of the new season, some players already got +1/2 despite not having played a game.
I've also noticed that young players with mediocore stats in the 50's or 60's tend to get boosts on every single stat while older players will only improve very few stats (but then they'll gain +5 boosts on them eventually). But I think that was the case in Fifa 12 already as well.
Having a good form seems to also prevent old players from dropping their OVR. My 36 years old Goalkeeper lost 2 points until I pushed his form to "good". He didn't lose anything from then on. When his form dropped to "ok" again, he started losing points again.
That are my discoveries as for now, perhaps someone can confirm them or has something to add.
