Pop Ups and Pop Unders

Are many people seeing these at the forums?

I have had a couple of complaints.

Firstly, let me say that I don't want pop ups in these forums. I don't control all of the ads that appear at the top... they are randomly displayed by an adverstising rep. They are not meant to be showing pop ups as well, but they might be being sneaky and putting them in as well.

Occasionally they might be a pop up or pop under that I show, but these will be the ones that only show up ONCE every 24 HOURS. I hardly think they intrude, and if these forums are to conitnue we need to earn enough money to pay for the servers. I completely understand how annoying pop ups or pop unders are that show up on every page, and I can assure you that I will never intentionally put them on these forums.

But anyway, can you all please reply and let me know if you have been seeing a lot of pop ups in the past couple of days?

I've disabled my firewall for a minute to have a browse around, and I have had no popups so far.

I have google toolbar so I never get any popups at any sites.

So far I only had one pop-up and it was one of those huge ones that cover the whole screen and you can't get rid of them unless you push "enter", of course I just used the alt-ctrl command to get rid of it.

I had this happen to me as well, twice.

I have a problem.

I have this toolbar that I dont know where it came from and I want to get rid of it because when its on my google toolbar cant come on and if I turn it off it just comes back. Anyone know how I can uninstall this:

Go to Add/Remove programs and find the file and then remove it

its not in add/remove programs, its not in program files dir, its hidden somewhere really deep and neither adaware nor spybot can get rid of it

i had it before i formatted my hd

I did.

Its called Myway Search or something and I uninstalled it and its still there.

I know you probably did this, but if you didn't:

Did you try righclicking an empty space in your browser window and clicking the bar away? When I couldn't get rid of one of those things thats what I did and I got rid of it that way....

On the popup thing for some reason my Yahoo Companion fails to hit one of them. That yellow one about a TV or something. Though the most annoying one was the full screen one but I've configured my companion to hit everything possible. Thank goodness for the update, I'm shocked to see how much faster I get things done without popups

That's happened to me twice, in the last 2 days. Thankfully, a combination of Spybot and AdAware stopped it from returning.

i only had it twice but my pop up blocked was turned off so i wouldnt really know

Ok, well I'll take down the Buds ads... I don't want pop ups appearing all over the place.

They'll be some new, and far more interesting (movies and games) ads coming later in the week. They will just be banners and perhaps one pop under per 24 hours. But at least these will be for things that will interest most of us.

It wouldn't be this site then... it could be a pop up ad software program you accidently installed.

yeah i got a couple of popups... Something related to Spyware guard or something
