On the EA forums I came across issues relating to DEP (Data Execution Prevention) thinking that FIFA 11 program could be a potential threat and closing it down. This could account for the game crashing randomly. I tried ‘Turn on DEP for all programs except those I select’ and added fifa.exe to the list.

So far I have played 4 games without a crash that used to crash every other game randomly. This is on a Win XP platform. I cannot check this on Vista or Windows 7 hopefully some of you guys that have these platforms can check this out.

Give it a go if it causes other problems or dosn't work you can always easily reverse it.

I hope it works for you if so let me know and I'm sure some of you guys can figure out a patch to maybe change a registry key () to exclude the fifa.exe and leave the DEP set to ‘Turn on DEP for essential windows programs and services only’

To do this follow the procedure:-

1...Right click on My computer
2...Select Properties > Advanced > performance settings
3...Select the Data Execution Prevention tab
4...Click the button Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
5...Select Add and navigate to Local Disk > Program files > EA Sports > FIFA 11 > Game > Fifa.exe
6...Click open
7..Click Apply

second day of applying the tweak.

i played three hours last night by watching Barca beat Kovenhavn. Momentarily my fifa11 seemed to stop working after several game but it continued the process without crash.

so my conclusion is the tweak is the solution for fifa11 on xp sp3.

its frustrating that iv got win xp 3 but still can't use this solution. my settings are like in vista and win 7 where it is disabled but can't be turned on

well i had a crash too today after 40-45 matches, i have windows 7, but the strange thing is that on DEP i cant add fifa.exe, i tried other games and its fine, with fifa.exe, a message pops up saying that this application needs DEP on (the first choice) and cannot be added..

any ideas?

only 1 crash after 20 matches,after the fix, bad crash because i've had to reset the pc.
but nevermind, a good momentary solution.

last night i got 1 crashed after 3 hours playing. it was a game after i try LEGENDARY difficulty. i've been playing for SEMI-PRO for 5 days and never crash. so i'll never set to LEGENDARY anymore. after all i got beat beaten by CPU 1 - 0 (LEGENDARY).

In Garga's thread on the EA forum, he talks of modifying the registry. I have not tried this but if you guys whos having problems with accessing DEP could maybe try this. I would strongly advise you to create a system restore point first (start > programs > accessories > system tools > system restore) so if it dosn't work you can restore back before you did the mod.

reporting : last night 3 hours played no single crash. difficulty is SEMI-PRO. two days a go i set to LEGENDARY and i got crashed.

conclusion : the tweak is for XP sp3 and difficulty is SEMI-PRO (at least its works for me).

Hey, I've been playing fifa 11 using windows xp sp3 and sometimes using windows 7 x32 (I got both on my pc), I started with the manager mode but it crashed a lot then I moved to virtual pro and played like 2 seasons without a crash, then came back to play manager with a different team and it's been working just fine no crashes at all (I'm in the middle of the second season now), I've played a minimum of 2 games and a maximum of like 3 or 4 hours in a row and it hasn't crashed, also when my neighbor comes to play we play all the afternoon just fine (using the kick off option) sometimes we change the game options like balls and field pattern and it works just fine, however if you change the team playstyle (chance creation, build plays speed and that) during the game it MAY crash after 1 or 2 minutes so my best advice for anybody that has the crashes will be to create your custom tactics, team formation and all that before playing and don't make many changes (to the settings) during the game to avoid the game crashing:borat:

I play @ pro difficulty with nothing else than the default fifa settings (not changing the priority of the game nor anything else)

I hardly ever get any crash in kick off mode with semi-pro, pro and world class (I played only one legendary match and backed off, not for me right now). The game crashed only twice in the last 20 days when I tried to hurry to get off to arena before the Player of the Match screen came up. If I wait for Player of the Match screen, it never crashes in KICK-OFF mode.

i got crashed at Tournament Mode. Playing with Chievo on knock-out mode, two games survive until i faced AS Roma the game was crashed. Restart the game and i play Exhibition on Chievo vs Roma. The game crashed again in the middle of the match. i delete my tournament on FIFA11 folder.

conclusion : my fifa11 was crashed if i played Chievo vs Roma. on other forum, i read someone was crashed if he try Man C vs Man U.

i hope the rumor of Fix Patch from EA shouldn't be rumor. fifa11 really made my blood pressure was high and i think i'll retire fifa11 for good old pes11. :swear2:

Both FIFA 11 and PES 2011 give me high blood pressure during later stages of any game when the late equalizer or late winner comes up against me !!!

Both games are exciting, but with different styles. Only if FIFA 11 PC could bring personality+ like even PES 2011
