So I got this pretty important friendly coming up for sunday, Im new at the team and its the last time I'm going to be able to play for them for two weeks since I'm going on holiday, I play striker and the competition is pretty good so I really need to impress. So I need to peform at my best for this game, I'd just like to ask what everybodies personal schedules are in terms of preparing for an upcoming go, the do's and dont's in order to peform to your most potential. Thanks guys.

First and foremost - no sexual activity whatsoever

my personal things: i like to give myself plenty of sleep the night before a game, and drink lots of water the day of a game (take a nice large P*ss before the game also, quite relieving), and just lounge on the field for awhile before the game starts so im relaxed and not nervous..

I once heard it was good for you, but I since heard Ian Wright sayin no sexual activity for at least 2 days before because it "takes away your power". Which makes sense since it is releasing testosterone, so I've been keeping that in mind ever since I heard him.

Also, whilst you're on the pitch wandering around before the game starts, be sure to get the ball for yourself and try some passes to your mates, and stuff like that. Mess with the ball.

It's always good to get the feel of it before the match starts. Makes you more calm and more confident once you actually get the ball in the match.

Thanks for the advice lads, I did all I could to prepare, played the last 45 minutes of the match (since its a friendly and theres new players, a sort of rotation system was happening to see how everybody played.) I took alot of the advice, and whilst i wasn't playing i was practicing with friends using a ball off of the pitch. I came on second half and scored on my debut after rounding the keeper and banging it in from a tight angle. The best thing you can do as a striker is score really so I was delighted. Thanks for the advice guys.

Congratz mate... People... Can you tell me how I can improve my dribbling techniques? And also shooting? Thanks.

Just practice..its that simple really. Get on muscle on your legs by working out and that will help with the power of your shots, just the ball the right way and it will fly.

I notice alot of players get too close to the players before trying to change direction etc, so leave little time/space and therefore get tackled. Try run at players with abit of speed, and change your direction at a reasonable distance. I've also learnt that if you want to improve something such as shooting try watching players that are good at it, and note tendencies they have and emulate their technique.
