Pro Discussion: Fifa 07 Crash While loading Game

I am searching for advice by the professionals in this forum:

Only When playing with certain teams FIFA07 crashes to desktop while loading a game (the progress bar halts the second before crashing).

Situation: My Game is heavily edited. That means:
-2 GK-Kits for many teams (GK only 1GK).
-2 GF-Flags and Boots.
-1 GA-Adboards.
-more than 1900 new 1GF-faces in newly created zdatas (each zdata below 500 files)
-fifa.fat is NOT exceeding 441 kb (currently: 435 kb; i have exported all flags and ingame logos to fifa07 main folder and deleted them in the zdata.bigs to save space in the fifa.fat).
-I have tried FIFAFS 4.99.2 and Creation Master 2.07 to regenerate fifa.fat and .bh-files.

My first guess was that some faces were causing the crash. So I checked every single face of the team causing the crash with Kitraptor-Preview (using another team kit, f. ex. Arsenal). All worked. Then I used the correct kit of the team causing the crash with KitRaptor-Face-Preview. And voila: KitRaptor-Face-Preview is crashing as well. So my guess was that certain kits must be corrupted. So I checked them with Filemaster: Everything OK, compressed and normal. I also tried to use the original fifa.db to rule out the database as a source of error. The error persists, though. I also tried rehashing the relevant kits. No use.

I am really desperate for any help or suggestion you might have. THANKS.

Though I have never had the problem myself, a lot of people were crashing when they had several 2gk graphics loaded on one team. Manchester would crash with edited stadiums and 2gk kits and edited faces... it just bogged the system down I guess. Might wanna drop your kits down to 1gk.

I tried that already. No use going down to 1GK-Kits... it still crashes. But thanks for the reply.

Hi,

Did you notice that the teams that crash have a large proportion of 1g faces? I have found that this causes most crashes when there are lots of graphics added. Your test with the Database proves that the issue is with the zdatas. You can try backing up your zdata files and use the originals. It can be painstaking, but you can try them one at a time. I'm pretty sure it's because of the faces.

Problem solved. Thanks for your replies.
zdata_08 was for some reason corrupted, so everytime I tried to play with a team using a kit from this zdata-file it crashed. I replaced it with the original zdata_08 from the FIFA07-DVD and reinstalled my kits. Now everything is fine.
