Problem

Okay, here's my situation...

I had FIFA 11 installed and working perfectly (minor glitches like a crash here and there). Playable. The graphics were set to a certain degree (unknown) so that there was no lag but as the players came off the field at the end of halves or games their heads would change to a more detailed one..so the graphics were not set to the highest level I'm assuming.

Stupidly, I attempted to install Grand Theft Auto IV, and found my graphics card left wanting (ATI Radeon 4200). I attempted adjustment of the GTA graphics in-game but it was clear my PC just couldnt handle it.

Then I returned to play FIFA and found that the graphics were altered. THGis led to crashing in game and black scoreboards and lag. I have reinstalled FIFA twice now and the latest one I also included the EA patch, as well the combined package from beta 990 that includes hybrid gameplay, ETGD, etc. The only problem I found was there was lag on any long pass or kick as well during instant replay.

I've gonme through my ATI Catalyst control center but I don't know what to alter to get it back to the oroginal settings that woprked so well. Its clear the detail in the latest settings is great but the lag issue sux.

Any ideas? Anybody else get this?

Update- Played around with the setting in the fifaconfig.exe....no luck.. I reduced the graphic quality to low and that def LOOKS like where I had it originally except the players are incredibly detailed when they are up close, leaving at the half or end. It also crashes at or near the end of every game on low rendering.

It has to be something set within the PC and not FIFA . I have noticed that originally the actual game screen was larger too....now its smaller and the camera is further away (players smaller)...than the way I originally had it.

Wonder why my graphics card is having such trouble with this game....blows that I had it nice and that GTA install fubar'd it..

maybe i'm naive but this issue is regarding of Rockstar games had different requirement of graphic to EAsports. i got similar experience once to Codemaster games. i had use Restore Point tools to back my earlier setting.

Well I turned down from low to very low graphics setting in FIFA, but it didn't really effect the graphics. I also used "GameGain" to find best settings and that seemed to improve it but if I play many games in a row it crashes after two games or three for sure.

I can tell when its coming 'cause the scoreboard blacks out, a players face is missing (ie. green/red hexes) or the cut scenes become distorted.

I still notice that despite turning down the graphics in Fifaconfig.exe to very low that the players faces as they come off the field at halftime are incredibly detailed. This isn't how it used to be. They used to change as they came closer so the farther away they were initially in the cutscene the less detailed. What setting could that be. Clearly the graphics drag is crashing everything. I updated the graphics drivers and Catalyst control Center (AMD processor and Radeon 4200 series card)

Just kinda blows. Have to restart every game I guess which is ludicrous.

sorry to intrude but can anyone post a link on FIFA 11 'Support' folder download
..i got the game and tried installing it but it failed cos most files are missing from the support folder.
..can anyone upload just the 'EA Support' folder and send me the link??..pretty please...i need it ASAP!! thanx
