Prophet Muhammed cartoons?

By now most of you guys would have heard about what is going on in Denmark and in europe. Cartoons of Muhammed with a bomb in his turban being published all over europe.

Provocation or free speech??


There is no doubt in my mind it is 100% provocation. After Sept. 11 there were tons of articles about Islam, about how all muslims are terrorists, about how Muhammed had to have been a psycho, things along that line. You never saw protests for that type of stuff. Why? Because those people have an opinion and are writing about it. Cartoons of a prophet with a bomb on his head has nothing to do with free speech, it is disrespectful, in bad taste and frankly, a way to sell papers.


How would you like it if I drew pictures of Jesus jizzing on a dogs face? Is that free speech?

i'm not necessarily taking any partie, but Christianity has been mocked and provocated in several acts of "free speach" as well, and no one quite ever made the fuss that's happening now...

I wouldn't give a shit. In fact, if everyone could stop taking Religion so seriously the world would be a much safer place to live.

That's what free press is about, they can print whatever they want - I guess that alone scares the Islamic world.

What I find laughable is to boycott Danish goods because of some freaking caricatures printed half a year ago.

i wouldnt give a ****, i told Den online i wasnt gonna get involved in this, and im not going to, because it infuriates me so much how much Muslims have taken this as a personal insult, that i cant even debate properly.

Go show Jesus ******* a dog from behind while blowing off Moses, really wouldnt bother us because most of us know how to take a joke, a concept sadly lost on some religions.

I think there's nothing wrong with it. Everyone should be able to freely write and create what they want. Moreover they're quite funny;"Stop, stop, we've run out of virgins".

I'm telling you if you say this isn't allowed to be produced than the Fawlty Towers episode with "Don't mention the war" shouldn't be either... :rolleyes:

there was a painting a few years ago of the virgin Mary covered in elephant dung....a few crackpots got all in a huff for a few weeks, the rest of us with brains said 'whatever', there was no mass protests, no threats of kidnappings, chants of death to whomever... to me it's actually sad to see Muslims perpetuating their own negative stereotypes.

Political cartoons have mocked everything under the sun, especially Christianity... frankly, I think the Muslim world would do themselves a much greater service by directing their protests against things like honor killings and the terrorist minority amongst them.

no one cares if you post pics of jesus...its wrong to pic a pic with muhammed and a bomb,but its right to kill peoples with a bomb,without any reasons?acually theres news from iraq and that countries,and about how many peoples died every day....why do you care,just ignore it,if it pisses you of,when they postin pics of a guy who isnt even exist...

well said, everyone. Christianity and Cotholicism in general have been the main targets of these kinds of jokes for decades, whether it be Jesus and God in a bar hitting on a girl in an episode of Family Guy or the countless jabs at Christianity in the Simpsons or all the jokes about all priests being Toms, er, paedophiles, sorry. but whatever, I can take a joke. in fact I usually laugh out loud at those jokes if they have any taste.

but to have one cartoon drawn that may offend your religion, then complaining about it is ridiculous. and then hitting out by trying to offend Christians with your dog jizz on Jesus remark, that's just sad. dont worry Ahmed, you'll eventually get over it, you'll learn to smile about it, laugh about it, etc. it's not that bad. we're here for you :dragan:

I don't want to judge all muslims the same but this just shows that islam is not the peaceful religion everyone claims. Islam is so backward it's not even funny, it's the only religion where you'd see people go an protest about a stupid cartoon, burning flags, threatening to kill people. Come on...things like this show the true colours of the religion.

They should smoke some hookah or something, chill the **** out

The jesus comment was not meant to offend, I was trying to make a point, hoping that some people here would see where I was coming from. Bombers and Honor jkilling have nothing to do with the issue, people being blown up in Iraq for "no reason" is not the issue either. My point here is simple, it has nothing much to do with god or faith even. These people took something that some people hold sacred, and desecrated
it. My gripe with the cartoons was not so much the pictures, but the fact that they were done knowing that it is against the ruls of Islam, knowing people would go crazy.

This is one thing I can't really agree on with you guys, we are just going to be going in circles all day.

You guys don't see any reason why some people are angry at the pictures, I don't see why you guys just cannot understand the fact that some people in this world are still offended by certain things. It all just matters which side you are on.
