Quick question for F1 racing fans.

I want to import a F1 game since there aren't any decent ones here in the US. What F1 game would you recommend for the PC?

Sony has the exclusive rights, and only releases for PS2. This means we haven't had any new games since june 2003 :(
Either Grand Prix 4 or F1 Challenge '99-'02 would be my recommendation. I haven't personally played EA's game, but it seems to be great fun. It does lack a decent damage model, but as it's EA, it looks great.
Last time I played GP4 was yesterday, and it's still great after 2 and a half years. Good AI, great car settings, good damage model, decent graphics. Still pretty heavy on the hardware.

You'd be best off checking the www.simracingworld.com forums, those guys know everything about the games.

if u want to play with a wheel get gp4. If u are planning to play with akeyboard get F1c as it has better steering help. Both games have a big community and u should be able to find 2004 season updates, and leter this year 2005 updates.

F1 Challenge '99-'02 is the best.
You can play one of the 99, 00, 01 & 02 season at your choice. Each season has his own different cars, different tracks and different drivers than the previous seasons

yes, but it lacks a bit of realism ;) like all EA games. He can play many season with both games. F1c has many season packages avaliable for dl on the internet and so does GP4.

Does GP4 have licensed teams, tracks, and cars? If so, I'm buying it.

I give up on F1 Challenge 99-02, unless someone knows of an alternative method of acquiring it. *hint hint* Anyone? (:/)

Gp4 basicaly is based on the 2001 season, but the thing is keeping either F1c or Gp4 with default cars is stupid as the ones avaliable online are far better (at least 10x times better). F1c also has online play, Gp4 doesnt. F1c is a little better for keyboarders, Gp4 is better for those with anolog controls (see @wheels) has much better tracks, much better AI, but still no online play. I'd say go for both games. Seriously, buying them now wont cost much more than buying empty CDs to write... ur PC backup files (....$@#$ :P ) :jap:

Well I ordered GP4 online and am getting F1 Challenge through alternitave methods(very slowly). If you know of any 2005 updates please hook it up with some links.

sory to inform u but u'll have to wait for 2005 mods. Making accurate 3d models with high-res accurate textures aint exactly an easy job ;) Stick to 2004 for now (or prev seasons (its always more fun playing seasons from the early 90s)) Usualy season updates(that are worth downloading) are starting to become avaliable mid-summer-time.

for f1c go to Emacs page to get the 2004 season.
For a Gp4 2004 season update go to gp4 italia to get their "megapatch". There is also an update at Simracingworld but its forum members only
