well i kinda agree uptil a certain extent, dont get me wrong he is a good defender i can also tell alot of defenders who are beneath him, the problem is that pepe imo isnt the kinda player to fix any of madrid's defense problems , the type that commands and carrys out the defense like maybe puyol or cannavaro in his good years, dont know if he was intended to be that guy in the first place, even so metzelder, and iam not talking only about the preseason , iam talking based on what he did in portugal too, if some ask me if madrid bought themselves a good defender to fill helguera and pavons gaps i wouls say yes, but if they ask me if madrid bought the kinda defender they needed, well.....

well seeing how we got cannavaro who does command the back line i dont see a problem, cannavaro did well yesterday overall, pepe cannavaro defense is perfect they just need time to adapt, pepe is the muscle who gets in the challenges while cannavaro is the brains who tells eeryone who to mark when the use the offside trap etc etc.big al;2383031 said:

like socrates said, the CB's looked exposed because of the way the flanks where getting exploited, notice in the second half when drenthe moved to the left that flank didnt get exposed as much for longer periods of the game, while on the right Ramos was just busy attacking, kicking, fighthing, all that...hehe...Our CB's did not have such a terrible game in terms of individual performance; except for Pepe's handball......I say like others give them time they will be alright

After I'v read the post-match interview, I kinda feel dissapointed with Bernd. He said that put Drenthe and Sneijder in the centre, because they are physicaly strong and fast. But he really should have played Fernandito there. Shame! But still, not so dissapointed as last week. We should work hard though for next weeks Liga opener. I want a win! (and I want Marcelo to play!!!!)

It is anthony; honestly.....Pepe was 30 millions because of potential, he is young he is on the come up, not one of those guys you named has the potential Pepe has....plus, he didnt ask to be sold for 30 milllion....do I think he is worth 30? I dont know, He might, might not be that is not my job as a fan, one thing I can tell you is that the man has the potential (there is that word again) to become the top defender in the world. I like his character, I like his poise, I believe he will be woth his weight in gold soon enough....
