Yeah we are very proud of our youth academy
Almost every year Ajax earns awards for best youth academy in Europe and if you mention names who were from our youth system you know why:"Johan Cruyff, Dennis Bergkamp, Marco van Basten, Frank Rijkaard, Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, Rafael van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder, Ryan Babel, Frank and Ronald de Boer and the list goes on and on..
At the moment some talented guys are still playing for us in the first team: Urby Emanuelson, Maarten Stekelenburg and a few youngsters.

Again I will be following Real Madrid with more interest now that Wesley joined you and yes Madrid is turning into Orange soon

Just curious here, why would you say that we don't need him? Do you think he could work in a 4 man midfield which might look something like this

LW--Wes--Diarra--Robinho

Or is he too much of an attacking player that does not come back? Also could you or the other Dutch guys tell us a little more about the guy. All I know is that he has a really good long shots.

i didnt think it waz a bad game...
we just missed Van Nistelrooy up front...
we attacked the entire second half.. and our CBs looked really good

LOL We looked terrible mate! And how many shots on goal did we have. We got owned big time. If it weren't for Iker, it would have been 4-0 Balboa looked way outclassed, I don't see him playing at all...can't even complete 3 yard passes and loses the ball way to easy. He looked hrrible on that wing. Raul can't take it to anyone, all in all there is no chemistry. It seems like 10 strangers out there. I know time will fix this a bit but we are in for a long season if we don't get better fast, real fast. Like Ham said, it's the worst pre season we've had, at least that I can remember. Finding the net is impossible and everyone seems to not know what to do when they get the ball. Not being pesimistic but that's the way it is so far. Oh, and Raul is a waste of a spot out there, really.

I hope he is a big part of the answer! Guti is way too irregular. I am not too familiar with Wesley but I hope he is way more consistant tahn Guti.

KingPaulV, I forgot to post this but I have read that Roma are getting closer to singing Cicinho. Would be great if it happened than we could get Henize for cheap as hell because they would rather not give him to Liverpool. LBs would = Henize and Marcleo. RBs = Ramos and Torres.

What a waste of a signing. We got him, hyped him, played a bit, got hurt, came back, on the way out! We need to be way wiser with signings in order to create chemistry. Now we have Scheijider, Drointhe, possily Robben.....we'll probably create consistant chemistry ib February or March

Heinze is a donkey. All muscle and no brain. WTF would Madrid want a player like that for. He's not even good enough for Man U so why would you guys be happy with a reject from that club? I think thatyou guys could do a lot better than Heinze really.

well first of all, I would be happy with not having Heinze, I think that would turn into another failed experiement, like Cicihno did...but that's another topic entirely.

As far the chemistry thing; Well considering that its very likely that 4 of our starters will be playing with each other in Real and with each other in the Holland NT then I guess that should mute the chemistry question...hehe

On the performance of the team:
I got my doubts about Schuster, always have, you can research that; but, let's give the guy time. By August 31st we should look complete from his standpoint. All he needs to do is shut up and coach, because he is a good coach; but one thing that concerns me is that it seems as if the pressure of being the Real Coach is getting to him, even this early. In Getafe they would have been happy to just play the supercup, in Madrid, a 1-0 loss to a good Sevilla team away in a home and away system is near disaster; that is the reality of being the Madrid coach, can he handle it....we will know pretty soon.


Also, For those of you that claim this is the worse pre-season ever...I think that it could work in our favor. We played descent competition for the most part and lost to some descent teams...I certainly would not like to be like Barca, they went out and played all these amateur teams from East Asia (i know some of them are pro teams but they play like amateurs) and now they are touted as confortable CL Winners....looks can be deceiving what's the use of putting up 15 against D grade teams and losing La Liga or the Champions....

I like titles, as much as I like good football, but if I had to pick; I would go for titles....that's all I will say on the Schuster-Capello Issue..

I would get him because he is cheap and can play LB/CB. Given that Marcelo is rather young and we need to build a good squad and the chance that we can sell Cicinho for some cash and keep hold of Torres by moving him over to RB makes me want Henize. With Henize he is not that young so it won't really hurt Marcelo who could even be the starter depending on who is performing better. Really who else would cost as much as Henize and would have all the pro's?

Also I agree with you Paul, like I said before at least we are playing more higher calibare teams and not amatures from Austra like last preseason so really it's not that bad.

We should give Schuster time. I don't expect us to be superunbeatable after a few weeks of preseason. I have faith in Schuster. Don't know why though, perhaps I like to dream. Well, if he doesn't work out we can bring Caps back next year to win a title until we find the next coach.

Robben is no longer playing for Chelsea,at least he refuses to play, he wont be traveling to reading, and so he is set on a move..Madrid are said to settle for 30 mill sometime this week...look for the deal to be final. Himself, Rudd, Drenthe and Snijder could be starting against Sevilla on Sunday...

BTW that formation looks damn nice, all we need to change is the LB for either Torres or Marcelo ( or Henize:amika: ). The only thing that kind of worries me is Fabio but hopefully he does better this year.

Like I'v said before Cannavaro looks damn good this pre-season (and he did so in the last half of last season) so I'm not worried about him! Drenthe played LB at Feyenoord, but he makes too many Cicinho like faults () and he doesnt want to play at LB so he will probably be benched for Robben. I also heard that Marcelo is gonna be loaned out to some club (almeria I think), that would s*ck. He impressed me against PSV! But lets hope this is just some rumour (again).

Btw, to answer your question about Sneijder. The guy is one of the most hardworking players out there. He works his a$$ off everytime he's on the pitch! The guy will be a succes!! He has one let down though, he gets too many cards, but that doesnt matter if you have Guti, Gago, De la Red (and MAYBEEE Granero ).

Its Pre-season for gods sake! it means **** all! Pre season is used for coaches to try new players/tactics and blood some youth team players.

Schuster doesnt even have a FULL roster at his disposal! Our main Striker (RvN) wasnt used and we still are making signings!

let the guy play ATLEAST a few regular season games and THEN start to worry.

Hopefully the Robben ordeal will be over soon, i want him to come, now that we got rid of Reyes. (although i still dont like him, i think we need him on the Left)

Lol, his last season was f*cking sensational, he played like 30 games and scored 15 goals (+ like 20 assists) Thats ALOT for a midfielder. Dont worry about Sneijder, he will be there when needed

Uhmm, we are after Alves. lol 40 mil to get him. And I assume this is just one of those rumours, but still we dont need him, we have Ramos, Torres and maybe Cicinho for the RB. Alves is worldclass but so is Ramos. I hope this isnt true and that he goes to Chelsea or Man Utd. (or stays at Sevilla)
