Real Madrid Thread [2007-2008]

What I dont understand here is that no one mentioned that we actually have almost the same squad as last season. Becks left, who was in topform the last 3 months, ok I will concede that. R.Carlos left and IMO he didnt play well last season so we wont miss him as much as Becks. But thats it! Helguera, Pavon, Mejia and that sort of players werent in the plans anyway. So we basicaly have the same squad + Pepe, Sneijder, Drenthe, Saviola, Dudek and Metze. I mean, wtf guys, we have a freakin world class squad. WORLD CLASS, no doubt. They need to gel together and then we'l see who's right. We have 2 players for almost each position, we never had that before. We always had a phenomenal starting XI, but the bench never was this good. We have got a fantastic starting XI, with a superb bench to cover. I wont complain! I'm gonna be patient, we have a young team and need a few games.

Btw, some of the things that Farca fans said were right, but they really also be worried about their own team, because Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Henry and Messi in one team?! I dont think so. I guess Eto'o will be benched for the new signing Henry and that will result in one hell of bomb there in Catalunya. Eto'o doesnt like to be benched even if its for 3 minutes. Ronaldinho is a legend, he cant be benched. Messi is a prodigy, why bench him if he scored 14 goals last season in relativaly few games. Henry also is a difficult one, because you cant bench a 24 mil buy whose name is Thiery Henry. Well Rijkaard, you got alot of homework to do Ow forgot him, DECO!! LMAO! I wont say a thing

It seems like Cicinho will stay. Schuster wants him to stay. (after losing 3-5, lol) Very weird things happen there man! IF the man can play then I'm happy to have him in the team. But dont waste his talent on the bench!

Another thing and imo alot worse is Iker! He got injured after colliding with Cesc Fabregas at the Spain NT training. He may miss La Liga opener, but that chance is little. It would be a big blow though! Even if we have Dudek to cover!

You're right, there could be some problems, but I'm more positive each day. I used to be worried quite a lot about this, but Eto'o's recent press conference made me feel much more relaxed. He said he would accept the bench. He wouldn't be happy about it, but he'd respect Rijkaard's decision and do everything he could to shine in the next game. Great attitude. Seeing how Eto'o was the one to say this, I don't think there will be many problems. Probably there will be some tensions now and then but nothing serious.

Cause the Barca guys rate us low for some bs.....hehe.....

I get that a lot, too. The last time I got bad rep was in the Arsenal thread when I said I thought their team didn't play better than PSG. Those are the posts I get repped badly for. Also, sometimes when I make a joke, and someone comes along who doesn't like it or understand it, bad rep. I only once got bad rep for an insulting post, the rest is always something ridiculous that really shouldn't bother anyone. I don't write abusive material and yet somehow there's always someone who'll bad rep me for a random comment and write something like "Yer maw" as the reason for the bad rep.

Schuster wants another forward. and these are the options;
Huntelaar
D. Milito
Ibrahimovic

all would come with a pricetag of at least 20M. Huntelaar could not play the CL because he already participated for Ajax...........well, that is the state of things, Schuster apparently needs a new 9 because there is a lack of goal up front. Also they are now talking about sending Soldado out on loan to Betis because Schuste has implied he wont be getting the minutes he wants under him this year....

What do I think of this?! I think it s*cks and I think that Schuster should stfu for some time. He has a world class squad, there is no f*cking need of a new nr.9, because we have 2. If they dont get any balls to finish off then its not their fault. Again the same old BS! I guess Huntelaar is on that list, because he has scored 4 goals against De Graafschap this week. I mean, thats how we buy our players. The week before we dont even know them and then they score a hattrick and we are after them paying way too much. Schuster really needs to back off. He ups the pressure on himself with all those new buys, the expectations will be very high with this squad and it will be alot higher if he keeps buying.

It's gonna be a fascinating season, many teams have a lot of new, not so famous players and some more famous. Some might not adjust to the syle of La Liga and some will be the best on their position.

The case, Ronnie, Eto'o, Messi and Henry - I think Rijkaard will rotate them, as that's what he did last season with the midfield. They'll have to realize that they can't play every game and that it's about the team, not about individuals.

Your squad is good, no doubt, the preseason matches haven't been good, but you still have time to make the tactics work and the players to get to know each other's styles. If you get there before the start of La Liga, or the day after, you'll be a force to be reckoned with, there's no question about it. The question is can you? If you don't get it right soon, and someone injures, and some other problems, you could be 10 points behind the leader after 5 games, but if this doesn't happen you can be the leader. It's all so hard to predict and we'll just have to see what happens and I think we learnt from last season, that it ain't over 'til it's over.

Jaboldinho, you need to change your mood from grumpy to honest. a nice catalan. im in shock, kudos to you mate. you have the biggest balls and most guts out of all the barca fans. any news on alves or robben lads?
i would have alves over cicinho, or even play alves as AMR with cicinho behind him if we dont lose him to sevilla. if we do then torres or ramos can fill the spot behind. also means robinho can go central as a SS.
i think we need sneijder to take the team by he scruff of the neck playing attacking mid we need a player with strong shoulders to take the wieght of the whole team. i hope he will carry on hs form from ajax. a great player.

I'm starting to dislike Schusteer, and it's too early for that! Maybe if he had the nerve to bench Raul, start Saviola. things would be different. The lack of goals are also cause of his sh!tty tactics. This man won't last! He's making us spend all this money for nothing. Everytime we lose, he wants someone new Dope

Ham hates Drointhe w/ a passion These anti Drointhe posts have been going on for 2 months I think, but I somewhat agree. Personally I like Torres. Drointhe looks good in midfield. He has 4 lungs and we need that out there.

I think Schuster ( like I said somewhere else) is finding out that the real Madrid job is too big for him, point and case....If you where poor all your life and never had any money and all of the sudden you become a millionare it is very likely that you will try to fix all your new problems with money, so it seems that everytime Schuster gets in a hole he wants to just call on the provervial cash and buy somebody else.........I dont think we need anybody else personally, Put Saviola next to rudd, that gives you balance, Rudd goes high Savi goes low and speed, take Raul out, play marcelo on the left (his natural position) alternate with Torres, Play Drenthe in the left and give him directions to come back and help out Diarrah and Marcelo, He has the lungs to do it....Have Sneijder run the game from the middle and make Robihno stay closer to the right with certain incursions in the middle, so He is not missing half the time....Have Ramos, make fewer run ups until Diarrah can get in rythym....and voila problem solved.......

18 million dont go down easy brother.......plus Drenthe showed he has the ability over time to be great, did you see the kid run all over the place, He wants to run the game; I can tell you as it stand he can probably run circles around 70% of the LM, AML, and LWB in la liga; I am talking speed, that gives you dynamic attack, plus he could help out diarrah and act as a shadow DM
