Aguero would never play in Madrid at least not straight from Atleti...he might if he was coming from another club, but he has stated his repeated dislike for R.Madrid many times before, part of the reason why I dont like him....

There is talk about Podolski now, and that Lassana Diarra is almost a done deal, except that City have made an eleventh hour bid and stopped what was almost a done deal...anybody can give me an honest assesment of Lassana Diarra? I havent seen him much to be honest, but I know he is awesome in FM08 hehe

ive watched him quite a few times, works hard, good tackles his passing isnt great and he doesnt just sit back he bombs forward as well and when he gets sight on goal he like to have a shot. and he does a pretty decent job at right back as well.

apperently were paying something in the region of 20 million pounds which is way too high (we payed 16 for mahamadou), but thats whats coming out of the newspapers. i hope not i wouldnt go past the 15 mill mark for him. its too risky.

but overall he is a decent cover for mahamadou and has the experience of champions league football and playing for a big club (he played for chelsea and arsenal).

EDIT: looks like a done deal http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/index.php?cms_ref=home&goto=news&qs_article_id=1933

Other news I am reading about is that Juve has asked for a pricetag on Drenthe, VDV could be let go at the end of the year (what a freaking waste of money if that's the case) and Parejo is coming back from QPR, I am excited to see him back he was pretty good in the pre-season and finally that we have been negotiating for Benzema already....... I just think Drenthe doesnt have the requiered stuff to be a Madrid player he is still if anything at least two to three years away....

i wouldnt sell drenthe our squad is depleetd enough as it is and hes the only genuine winger we have other then robben. to be faire to him he has shown a bit of promise, yeh he needs to work on few things but i say we give him nother 6 months, besides when we have players back from injury he wont be starting.

against farca he did ok in my opinion and showed great hunger and determintion throughout the whole game, he just let himself own with THAT miss. but it happens in football, and its how you react that counts.

I think Drenthe i simproving with each game. I have been critical of him but Im starting to like him and starting to see the promise in him. I say keep him. As long as he's improving, even if it's slowly, and playng his heart out, we should keep him. He has blistering pace which we lack w/o him. I lost count of all the fouls he draws near the box. He causes headaches for defenders. He needs to work on a few things but Madrid knew this. Patience. He has all the tools needed to become a true force. IMO.

Not too sure how feel about it if we actually do sign him becuase to be honest I have not seen him play much. All I know is that he can play CM and RB if needed. Let's see if we overpay or not too.

About Parejo, I have heard both that we will bring him back now or that Juande wants to see what other options are there (like L. Diarra) and maybe not bring him back.

About Drenthe, not sure if I would sell him right now. I mean he has only really gotten mins to play this season and has look OK, nothing special but IMO he can still turn out to be a good player for us. I would wait and see with him.

Oh Man!! Not this again..

Can we just finish the season Calderon, and then lets talk about the possible signing of him. At the moment I would call it BS

Nothing in particular against Madrid, but historically I can't think of any successful winter signings (by any team). Players are always most expensive during this transfer window and I don't recall any winter signings ever making a significant impact. Anybody have examples to prove me wrong?

edgar davis has make a great performace in barça, we do awesome 2on half but wasnt enought to win the tittle.

Yeah I hope this crap doesnt happen again with Ronaldo, if he comes let him come and let them only announces the day he lands in Madrid otherwise we got a lot more to worry about than him...But remember that el mundo likes Fiorentino so it is entirely possible they are just trying to discredit Calderon so he would lose the elections for sure

Anyway, Lassana Diarra is official or what? seems like he is but he isisnt............well what is official is that Parejo is back, and he will be taking over De La Red's Spot...(shame, poor guy) Diarra for Diarra, Hunter for Van Gol, and that leaves one spot open for a winger...who will it be...I saw Ashley Young play over the weekend and he was fantastic I must admit, but the commentators did point out he was having an outstading season...

Yeah, you are right to give Young more time to impress. I think he will be a great player, but I'm not sure what the "big time" too soon, would do to his mentality. Another season at Villa ( If they can keep him),would do him good.

That's terrible news about De la Red. Apart from a really cool name, I like him as a player.

Diarra is a very good, dedicated player. He has a mission in life to give his career everything. That's why he left Chelsea and Arsenal so soon after joining. He needs to be playing otherwise he is not happy.

He said himself that he joined Portsmouth, so he could play regularly and put himself in the shop window, and that that he was waiting for a bigger club to come in for him. That has now happened, so I think Diarra will now feel he can settle down at RM, and enjoy his football. Good luck to him.

So Pede you seem to know a bit about Diarra...what is he like Is he a DM or a RB as I have heard or a RM as you just pointed out?? thanks

hey KingPaulV, just read your post on the ManU thread and wanted to ask you, did you ever hear about what happen after the sevilla game?? Apparently there was a meeting for all the board members as well as some fans. Well, it seems that a majority of the fans were Ultras, that were bused to the event. All attacked the board members and when anybody talked bad about Calderon, the ultras when after that person. All verbal attacks of course. Yet when they confronted Calderon about wether of not he was the one who organize the Ultras trip to the event, he denied the whole think.

Now seriously, if the majority, if not all, of the Ultras are defending Calderon, does he actually expect us to believe he had nothing to do with their arrival to that event?..

The faster he goes the better is what I say..
