I mean listen the man is no angel, he is an idiot and in my opinion has brough great lack of prestige upon our club with his lies and having Pedja as an athletic director does not help....But is not as if we were excited when Fiorentino pretty much threw the club under the bus after the Galacticos policies failed.....Aside from Saviola, and the somewhat questionable decision to sign Schuster; I like the theory that we will sign young footballers with hunger...and not just big names, however, there should be more oportunities for the cantera guys...can anybody honestly tell me that we dont have a guy in our system better or equal to Drenthe for example...better or equal to Marcelo? Better or equal to Saviola...Dudek?? I mean you see what I am saying.....

However to answer your question, I dont think is ok for the newspapers to try to put more dirt on Calderon i think he does a good job of digging himself into a hole all by himself...as shown by the Ultras incident at the Asamblea

So according to the media we are trying to sign Benzema, have sigend C. Ronaldo, and are trying to sign Aguero......LOL, have to love the media.

About Aguero, **** him. Yea I said it and I'm with Paul on this one, I would not want the little **** to play for us. Higuain is better anyway:biggrinx:

off the top of my head, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to Ajax in Jan 2006 ... and he could make it 2-in-2 if he succeeds at Real ...

also, as Arnau mentioned, Edgar Davids was a great transfer -- arguably the catalyst that started off what would be 2 and a bit years of stunning football ...

Nobody in particular, but teams buying in the winter do so out of desperation and generally pay more, not to mention the extra "convincing" that clubs need to let go of a player mid-season.

Ferguson on supposed Madrid-Ronaldo deal: "I wouldn't sell that mob a virus." hahaha

I hope this puts an end to that for good.

Agree with that, and if the reports are right we are spending a lot of money on L. Diarra too. I will wait to see how the Hunter does but generally speaking I agree with you. It's never good to buy in the winter but right now we don't really have any other option really. So far the only good winter move has been sacking Schuster for J. Ramos it seems.

haha

I was/am actually pulling for C.Ronaldo to get signed by Real ... not going to go too much into detail about why, but I guess the words "Ferguson" and "over-inflated ego" have something to do with it ...

Red Card [Being a douche] exp. 22/1/06
The Manchester United manager thought he had put an end to immediate speculation over Ronaldo's future plans when he talked the Ballon D'Or winner into staying at Old Trafford last summer.

In recent times conciliatory messages have been coming out of the Bernabeu which suggested they would turn their attentions elsewhere, having established United are not willing to part with their star man.

However, the calm waters have been rocked again after bold claims from Real director Pedro Trapote who said the deal to sign Ronaldo had been agreed.

The initial private reaction was terse and to the point. Now Ferguson has gone public with an amazing attack which left no doubt he would not be doing business with Real now, next summer, or at any time in the future.

"Do you think I would enter into a contract with that mob?" he said.

"No chance. I would not sell them a virus.

"That is a 'no' by the way. There is no agreement whatsoever between the clubs."

Although Ferguson was eventually guided away from the subject, he still managed to outline his view on Real's strategy, which the United boss feels is being influenced by Ronaldo's close friend Gabriel Heinze, who joined Real from the Red Devils last year after he was denied his preferred choice of a move to Liverpool.

Ferguson knows the speculation will not stop. However, he wants to try to concentrate on his own team.

"Real blame anybody but themselves," he said.

"I said to (chief executive) David Gill a year last summer when we sold Gabriel Heinze he could bet his life this stuff will all start up around Ronaldo in January. It will happen again this January.

"We just have to ignore it. If we worry about what Real Madrid have to say we are not concentrating on our own publicity and the programme of difficult games we have got coming up.

"Sometimes they create an angry situation and sometimes I get really annoyed with them. But we know their game. I think we should play ours and ignore them."

Ferguson's outspoken comments have added a fascinating sub-plot to tomorrow's Champions League draw, with Real one of five potential knock-out round opponents for the Old Trafford outfit.

No one wanted a english side and we get Liverpool! This serie will not be easy but I think Real Madrid can past to the next round.
