i dont see the result is as dramatic as it seems, madrid are kings of beeing an unpredictible team, and unpredictible results, the key for madrid is to try and score first and very fast in pool, after that its anybodys game again.

Easier said than done... Liverpool had a very firm defence today, and next leg will be with gerard who controls the midfield and tempo very well

Well all the points that I would have made have already been post, so no point in repeating all of then. Unfortunately I am going to be left wondering why we have played so conservatively at home when we should have used it to our advantage. The only thing that comes to mind is that Ramos didn't want to concede a goal, which is what ended up happening.

Now we go to Anfield against a team that will be looking to protect their lead and will most likely play a counterattack game. I want to say that their is still hope and that we can still win it, yet I can't shake off that feeling of what happened when we played Arsenal two years ago.

Despite this setback... HALA MADRID!!

Don't know why my fellow madridistas are so surprised...no creative midfielders=few chances created to score goals through the centre of the park (against established teams anyway).Appreciate what i mean by chances created, a midtable La Liga team is much more likely than Liverpool to perform the sort of errors that would lead to us capitalising and scoring a goal; i dont consider these as created chances. In la liga, at least we have a third striker(huntelaar) who plays at the top of the pitch and Raul and Higuain support him in front of the midfield. By saying this, what i mean is with the extra striker playing, a defense has a bit more to worry about, especially since in la liga recently Raul/Higuain have been extremely mobile in the front of midfield, allowing huntelaar be the man keeping the defenders company while waiting for that killer ball. In CL, with no klaas, Raul is our target man and is easily outmuscled or pressured. Robben was obviously our outlet leading to the strikers and was marked out of the game for a lot of the game (what i expect any good team to do). That leaves marcelo diarra and gago to supply our strikers with goal-scoring opportunities....bleh. Dont get me wrong, diarra/Gago has worked for us as a midfield pivot fantastically, and marcelo was beginning to come into his own also but none of them are out-and-out creative midfielders. I expected 0-0 at best, with our best hope for a goal coming from our wings. Ramos' crossing put paid to that hope (sigh) and both robben and higuain were greedy when the odd chance DID show up. back to the drawing board juande, i find it hard to see us beating liverpool in anfield with that sorta lineup; its asking a LOT from a couple of our players

Now on to bigger things. Big game today, I'm pretty sure the team is feeling down after the loss and will be looking to use this game as pick me up. The lead can be cut to four point at least for a day, so I will be looking for the team to go out and play their hearts out.

You Barca people light up sparks and complain when they go up in flames. You obviously come here week in week out to poke fun at us and our club. In turn, we tell you where to go. So what's the problem? If you cant take it dont dish it. That goes to bandwagon fans and fans of smaller less important teams who do the same.

This Espanol game looks bad. Those thinkin they would role over for us are ridiculous. They are fightin for survival in La Liga and have a new staddium theyd like to play in next year...in the top flight. Why would they roll over?
