His defense isn't really that good. Bale is a more attacking player. Also I think they're both Welsh.

Bale started as a fullback because he has loads of energy and he's a good crosser, and a solid defender. He was moved to LW because he's got bags of pace and he's definitely better in attack, that and Harry values Benoit too much to see him leave because of no playing time, but Bale's defending isn't bad. They also needed an actual left-winger, and he's the closest to it.

His ratio in ability in attack and defense is similar to Evra's, IMO.

Bale's been on most people's radar for a few years now as a potential star; him finally stepping up his game is good to see ... he's certainly got the tekkers to cut it ...

YOU should learn to read. I said I disagree that their abilities in defense and attack have a similar relationship. Bale is a more attacking fullback than Evra. He's like an extra winger whereas Evra is closer to a traditional fullback. I never said Evra is better than Bale or vice versa.

i.e Bale's Attack to Defense ratio > Evra's Attack to Defense ratio.
