Hi

Is it better to have a full reserve squad with no/few players out on loan or is it better to have most players out on loan?

Thanks, appreciate it.

It's best to have as many players on loan from your reserves IMO. That way they won't wine about not getting enough playtime. But you should consider, though, that you might need some of them when for example you have many injury problems.

I only loan them out for 3-6 months.

In my experience I've found that my youth players do not improve that much when they're out on loan.

Their abilities stats increase when they're trained by my coaches.

I disagree, if you think you can send a player to somewhere where he'll get first team action at a standard of football not too far below what you're playing at, loan him. Players will improve their stats far more through training and matches, than training and reserve-matches at a potentially better training ground.

In my opinion.

I normally loan those players who are good but don't fit in my plans anymore, or who have to compete against excellent players. Their technical stats improve less, but everything else improves more, so if you want your defender to just be stronger or faster, etc. send him on loan, if you want him to be able to tackle better, keep him. That's what works for me, I choose what I want each player to improve on, and normally that means keeping them. Also, it's harder to loan only those I want to loan, since either everyone wants to buy them, or doesn't want them at all.

I prefer to loan out as much as possible, it really improves them a lot if they get first team football. I mostly put in a recall clause though, just in case I need them...I cant think of an example where I used the recall clause though.

depends on whether you trust the other clubs training facilities and coach's really. Im a little cautious about who i loan my hot prospects to, they need to have decent training grounds and capable coach's or i'll keep em with the club and my training scheduel's and play em in cup games.
