Well, it's an interesting review, but I'm always somewhat wary to go by what professional reviewers say about a game I spend a lot of time with. These guys don't spend a whole lot of time with a game before they have to write that review. It might be an 8.7 after playing it for a few days, but I'd be playing it damn near every day for a year. Will it still be an 8.7 then? I spent a lot of time with 2005, so I know what needed to be fixed. They don't.
They also aren't dedicated soccer fans. I know the way Bolton play. I know their system, the strengths and weaknesses of their players, and I won't be happy if those things aren't represented well in the game. I doubt this reviewer could tell you whether or not Arsenal or Madrid were represented accurately, let alone Bolton. If, for instance, they see Thierry Henry scoring with a crapload of headers as he could in 2005, they might think nothing of it.
But this review revealed some good information, and I'm sad to hear Gamecube owners got screwed, as usual. Nintendo should be doing something about the short end of the stick we get.
I keep telling myself I should rent it first, but the GCN version will be under $30 after I trade 2005 in towards it, so I'll probably buy it soon.
