Robinho vs Messi - you be the judge -

Messi can play in 3 positions so far, Right Winger, Attacking Midfilder, and as a second foward...

Thats important for a young player...

And Robinho is overrated...

cos thats his opinion? which hes entitled to after all...

at the end of the day, u look how rooney played at euro 2004, and he was damn good, and was only 18? Messi was a revlation at the youth world cup, and obviously Robinho was at neither, but hes cracked the international scene as well, and done quite well (confeds cup)... and while we cant really talk about Messi's argentina debut (quality debut lol), cant we all just agree all 3 are talented? :p

ps, jesus navas is the bomb

Rooney is fast too! Forgot to mention that.
Fast and Strong. He is not over rated.

Thats about it.

why would I want to take off my Brazilian shades when I know we produce the best players? (H)
Dare to look at our line up? :read:

I know a good player when I see one. Rooney will be like Owen. A Great top 5% player.

Maybe you're right, and i will not argue about that... but in terms of natural talent/technique, Rooney has to work very hard to get to their level, while they have it naturally... don't you agree? :)

ps: i'm not saying Rooney hasn't got natural talent, bcoz he has... and he's really good... but he's not at the same level of those two... he hasn't got that much talent... he's a hard worker, fast, nice technique and a great shooting ability... but with less effort, a guy like Messi can dribble an opponent and can control the ball very well... that's natural talent! Lots of it... :))
Yeah, agreed. Rooney, for example, doesn't have Messi's acceleration or Robinho's technical skills. Things can change over time.

The most thoughtless comment i've read here... (:/)
Why is that? If you watch him carefully in matches, he's in a league of his own. Ball control, his ability to power past players, his pace, his technique, his ability to beat 3 or more players at once...not to mention at times he plays some of the most accurate passes/lobs to teamates, his shooting ability from both long range and inside the box, tackling...it's all there, and he's what? 19? Imagine when he's like 28...

Dont be fooled by Sven and Ferguson's gross misuse of him...Left wing in a 4-5-1 for england??? Left wing in a 433 for utd??? Come on now... He's a forward.

as much as rooney is a twat, lets b honest, he is a giant twat... he is a very good player... i honestly dont see how ppl can say otherwise, the fact that already in his short 2-3 year career he's scored some goals which will go down in history as 'great goals' (obviously his first one against arse, and as a toon fan, how could i not mention his volley against us at OT last season... and hey, hatty on man utd debut?)...
its not like the kid doesnt have talent, so those who are in here saying he doesnt have ne should just leave and focus trying to juggle a ball and call it a 'skill'

it probly depends alot on where u watch ur soccer, im a premier league fan, big newcastle fan, so i see alot more of rooney for man utd and england than i do of robinho at santos or real madrid, and the first ive seen of messi was watching the youth world cup, so i obviously have more to say about rooney.
Don't get me wrong, i dont like rooney, i admire his talent, but dislike him..

Robinho is not overrated... the kid is really good!!!

As for Rooney, he is already one of the best strikers in Europe for me! So i'm not questioning his credentials... but try to understand my point: while he is stronger and has a better shooting ability than Messi and Robinho, those two have much more in terms of general technique/skills (ball control, dribble, trickeries)...

Rooney is actually a striker, and his task is to score goals, which he does! His passing ability and pace are also very good... Messi and Robinho are forwards (well, Messi is actually an attacking midfielder), and their main task is to provide the strikers with good balls, unbalance the defence, etc... and they also perform their tasks very well!!! So that's why i don't agree when one says that Rooney schools them both...

Also, Rooney is very good, but let's not compare his skills with those of Zidane... not even the other two, who are both more skilled than him, can be compared to Zizou! (:/)

Now back to topic.... i don't think there's much between Messi and Robinho... they're at the same level....

there is no doubt Robinho is a good player, but he's not THAT good.
The kid got good technique, but there are many players around with just as much, and he is as strong as a 5-year old boy. You touch him with your fingers and he falls, and that often ruin the entire attack, which is IMO not a good thing.
He is good, he will never be the next Pele, he will never reach Ronaldinho's level, ever.

I haven't seen Messi play since they never show Barca on Norwegian TV so I can't express my self there.
