What's with the [R] in the thread title?



Looking at Keane's attitude, that's the only way he could have left the club. And some might say it was time, but to me it seems, him injuried, he is much more of a benefit to the club, rather than Quieroz. Now there will be no Keane to straighten the club up and unless Fergie took Roy's words seriously, United is really ****ed now. The only man that could say something has been kicked out and for all his age and injury problems, i am very very sad.


Ben, i don't think that we will go back to 4-4-2 now. We played 4-3-3 without Keane a lot and i really don't know what Fergie will do now. But yeah, those 120 pounds of a wage list is good, i just wish it wasn't so soon. But at least now, we can offer Ballack lots of money and not have to pay just as much to Keane as well.

As much as I tried to convince myself that Keano won't ever leave, I knew that something like that was going to happen, just caught me by surprise..
Thank you Keano for all those great years at OT, true legend that will surely go into United's list of the best players of all time.. Without him, United won't ever be the same.. It's dissapointing when a rare, irreplacable legend with such a great fighting spirit, attitude and courage leaves the club just like that..

I totally agree. Even if someone comes along with equal or better technical ability, Keano was one of a kind as a player and a captain.

this was the most un-expected press release i've ever seen. I clearly remember on Fri Morning Fergie said that all's well and keano would be back in a few weeks, he also said that keane was having light training with the team.

Later yesterday i see the news update and Keane Leaves Utd.

Well it's been said on Sky Sports News this morning and it's on the back pages of most of the tabloids and broadsheets that Keane had a massive row with Fergie, then Quieroz, but the latter argument with the assistant manager was the final straw. Sad way to go, as a Sky Sports News reader said it's like a bitter divorce.

I suppose Keane has all the right to lash out at them but doing it in public? Definitely a PR nightmare for the club. I'm guessing that kinda settled things for him at MU. Though I thought he would at least see out the season.
