I suppose with all the Irish injuries, there is always a chance for Argentina.

The New Zealand attack of today vs the Australia defense of the Wales game could make for an absolutely classic final.

I will be torn between who to support in an Aus vs Ireland semi. I think Ireland COULD beat Australia (not favourites, obviously, but it could happen) but would not have a hope in hell of beating NZ, whereas Aus could stand up to them. So it's whether I would prefered one NH team to make it, only to get massacred, or a competitive final.

This is assuming NZ beat SA of course, who wont make it easy for them, even though there was barely a whisker between them and Wales today.

I really hope Argentina make the final. Not really because of the NZ/ Oz thing, but mainly to shake things up and have someone different in there. And how many countries could have finalists in both the FWC one year and RWC the next?

Well I hope South Africa make the final. Not because of the NZ/Oz thing, but because I don't like NZ and I'm from Australia.

Assuming we do beat Argentina, the final will be a non event of Pocock isn't playing. We can't win without him

Well I think there is little argument that the tournament's top two sides are in the final. Also the top 2 ranked sides. Hopefully McCaw plays and Pocock is fit.

Been all NZ so far. Only thing keeping Australia in it is rock solid defence and being so good at the breakdown

The All Blacks were good in that first half, but got 10 points from two terrible calls from the referee in the last ten. That pass before the last penalty was so far forward I thought I was watching Jarryd Hayne. Then missing that knock on in the lead up to the try was ridiculous. I think he confused himself with advantage

All Blacks were the better side - especially in the first half. Congrats to NZ.

I do wish that the referee didn't get those couple of simple calls so wrong though - the changes the game, and now we'll never know. As good as the All Blacks were, the defensive line was holding out really well, and the "better" side often doesn't win the close ones.

Well... I was secretly supporting the wallabies. Hard to fathom I know from a nationalist perspective... but at the last election, several All Blacks tweeted their support for the incumbent (right wing) prime minister, and he has played a media masterclass at getting as many photo opportunities with them as possible. Rugby is so culturally ingrained in this country, beyond any other sport - on a similar level to football in Brazil.

Anyway, I caught the second half and was expecting the Wallabies to come out on top after the yellow card, given they scored a try and looked certain for another. The drop kick and penalty put things out of reach for them, and some bad handling errors in the final fifteen minutes didn't help. If they had managed to score two tries in during the sinbin, that would have made for a different outcome I expect. The final try for the All Blacks was pretty much just one of those things that happen when you have momentum and some fresh legs.

The final score didn't really pay tribute to how close it was at times.

Yeah agree with that. The final try was just one of those circumstances where one team is on attack giving everything, and one little error saw the other team run 100m.

Anyway, see you in next year's Bledisloe!
