Russian League getting good

Youth Team
It's kinda sad that for the fist time in 7 years Loko's not going to Europe, but still. CSKA Moscow is going to the next CL, and I'm all for them now, since their new coach made them an actual team, not a bunch of guys running at the ball.

Anyway, I think the Russian Premiere has gotten waaay better. Very close championship from the very start, some very close matches lately. Look how good old Spartak Moscow is dominating (makes me remember the days of Spartak's Europe domination), how well Sytchev is tying into the Loko game, etc

Each tour has some awesome tight matches, very entertaining, compared to last year's, or the ones before that...

I think in a few years Russian Championship will be on the same level as any other European one.

Personally, the CSKA - Lokomotiv match was much more entertaining then the Monaco - Chelsea yesterday... Im liking it =)

Lokomotiv have impressed me alot this year in Europe, its a shame they couldn't go further.

They played some very entertaining football.

giorgi or however u spell that in english. yea, he's portuguese. he's allright, he made them play pretty football, but he needs to learn how to motivate his players and also to take into account other things except for players.

cska's 5-million players cannot do any technique moves on russian spring mudfields. but he's better than gazzaev, imho, cuz under him all they did was run like crazy at the goal.

pity loko wont even be in uefa cup this year... im so pissed. why did semin have to put in Nigmatullin for the most important match?

Help?

Because Nigmatullin deserves some support, after what he has done for Lokomotiv, before moving to Italy in 2001/2002 that ruined his career.

i dont mind him playing any match except for the one that decides whether Loko has a chance of going to europe or not next year...

that one and the one against CSKA, cuz the Boss saved some crazy balls that game. otherwise, Nigma all the way.

CSKA Moscow's manager is Artur Jorge. Raul Aguas is the assistant manager and Fidalgo Antunes the physio.

They say Zoetebier (Feyenoord goalie) will go to Russia next year, so the league can attract ''big'' players, which means it is pretty decent

yeah, Zoetebier is going to Torpedo. besids there are already some rather famous players in Russia such as Jarosik, Olic, Novotny, Catanha, Kincl, Dostalek, Carvalho and a lot of players from South African national team - Leckheto, Booth and others.

Spartak is doing great, I hope they can qualify for the CL along with CSKA. It has been very great seson so far, some awesome encounters between the Moscow clubs.

this should be the official russian premier liga thread we can post results and recent news.

haha yea...

I hate CSKA tho, sorry. I'm really happy that Spartak is doing wel tho...

My wish for the two teams to go to CL next year: Lokomotiv + Spartak. We'll see how Zenit does in 2004/2005 CL, I think they can put up a good show.

and yep, Daniel Carvalho is playing for CSKA Moscow. You'll see him in CL this year.

You forgot one famous player: Sytchev in Lokomotiv ;) I think Obiorah has made quite a name for himself too.

Obiorah's awesome, when he's playing well, but he usually sux so it's kinda sad.

25th April:

Amkar - Dinamo (0:0)
Torpedo - Zenit (0:1 - penalty)

no, Obiorah has lost too many chances to score this season, because of him and Parks we lost to Monaco.
